CL might be as little as a month away!!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!! (long)

ok, im just waiting for a healthy down payment. (my integ might be worth 2-3K, so maybe 2-3K more) and i think ill be able to get it POSSIBLY by the end of march. im only 17, but make good money with an internet company (hasnt gone public).......my parents wont do a damn thing (except cosign). im so pumped, ill have the nicest car at my high school that I BOUGHT MYSELF(some rich kids drive ****en clks, but that doesnt count, their parents bought it). im so happy.......my dad has a cl-p and i fell in love with the car. ok, i have some few questions that i want to ask before i go out looking seriously soon.

1. if you get the spoiler, does the weight affect the auto trunk opener?
2. is the bowling ball trim standard? (i like it! lol)
3. does the moonroof really not open all the way?
4. can you put just a sub in with the stock bose system?
5. how hard is the little mod to make the navi play dvds?

thanks guys.......i barely can sleep these days.......dreaming of going bling bling.......

First, One you get it, you should drive slooowwwww, You are just 17 and I know how do you feel. Yo also have to do some planning about the countless days and night you just stare at your CL-S or come up with any excuse just to drive it.

For the answers:

1) I guess so, mine does barely move when opened. However, there is 2 settings for the torson bars that lifts the trunk. mine is not adjusted.

2)Yes. You have 2 options ebony/bowling ball or "woodlike" with the other color.

3)Yes. If that bother you too much. TL-S will not have this problem.

4) do not know. Post in the Electronics forum.

5)Someone is making a kit that you can buy and install.

Finally, Drive safely.

Congrats, you will love it, I was 18 when I got my Type S, now i am 19, its AN AWSOME car.

1. i dunt know, dont have a spoiler, yet

2. most of the type's have it, most,

3. nah, but its ok, cant be perfect, for me its different, in canada, you can only use it and have fun a few months in the year

4. i have a sub in the back, very good

5. this is one of those things you say your gonna do when you get the CL-S, but you never end up doing, atleast not right away, or even the first year. I told myself since day one, that i am gonna get all the performance mods, spoiler, chrome..blah blah blah.. but all i ended up doing is tinting, wblack Wood COMPLETE trim, subs, and a air freshner.

Nashua Night Hawk, how do you know the TL moonroof is good? I remeber TL people complaining about their moonroofs sucking too.

If you get the type-s with a spoiler, the dealer will adjust the setting on the truck, and it will still Auto-pop open fine. Remember, you really don't want the trunk lid to open ALL THE WAY when you pop it(someone might be, Ahh hell, someone WILL be checkin your ride out and might see something they like in your trunk if it pops open all the way)

Yes, the moonroof sucks ASS. It opens like 6-70% of the way.

I know how you feel. I have to wait myself about 3 weeks before I can get behind the wheel of my type-s again.

Ahh, the memories and fun I had with it.

1) The spoiler modification includes beefing up the mechanism to continue to open the trunk about 1/2 way.
2) If you get the ebony interior, get bowling ball; if you get parchment, get Virtual Wood interior
3) It really doesn't - frankly, it don't bug me.
4) Subwoofer yes; submarine, no; sub-sandwich, yes but it will smell up the trunk
5) For me its really hard; for the electrical engineers on acura-tl.com - seems like a day's work.

Ditto on the drive slow statement. Young men generally crash cars - this is too nice a car to crash.

amir,

I saw few pcis of the TL-S from a Virtual Cam in Detroit Show , the moonroof seemed is able to open all the way back. I could be wrong too.

Anyone checked it in person ?

thanks for all your help. yeah, my mom is a little skeptical about everything. she thinks i should wait like a year (when im 18) and get a CL-P non-nav. i am trying to convince her that at the current state in the economy, NOW is the best time to buy a car, and i need the 260hp and navi! LOL its kind of an uphill battle.....
