the CL done
my dad works for Honda if you guys don't know (at the Anna engine plant) anyhow he gets e-mails and things about upcoming events(as far as future builds and drops and stuff like that). According to this paper he brought home. the Last CL will be built in June.
So bottom line if your thinking about another CL or trading your CL do it fast cause you only got 3.5 months

Hmmm... I'm really surprised that Acura is giving up on the coupe market. Other competitors are gearing up (G35c, etc, etc) and Acura is just gonna pack it up and admit defeat ??
I guess that Acura doesn't want a coupe in it's lineup (the RSX doesn't count as a coupe 'cause it's a hatchback).
Oh well, I was planning on owning my CLS for awhile ....

According to the paper they have through the 05 model year(it's kind of a production car road map) there's no new models other than the new Honda pickup which is suppose to drop late 04 as a 05 model. so the soonest is 06 i'd say

what happened was (this is my own 2 cents) Honda got concerned about sales dropping said we might as well cut our loses and cut the CL. then if they want the sporty coupe they can get a Accord coupe v-6 stick but i admit the CL is a sweet car. but sorry guys the cards have been dealt

your probably right i heard toyota is planning to drop their solara
because of declining sales.
the 2dr market i read is not doing well. the market is the 30-50 age range and their going after the 4drs a lot is that people are having kids later in life. at one time a 4dr never had the performance of a 2dr. not any more.
the problem is the accord is no subsitute for the Cl you might as well drive a hyundai pony.
Don't know about you guys, but as far as I am concerned, this is good news!!! I personally hate it when you get a car that gets updated until all you think about is the 'new' one. No issue now!!! If this pans out, I will keep this car for the long run. (which for me is > 3 years).

Matter of fact, I think the Accord coupe 6spd with the optional rear spoiler, Aero kit, and fog lights will be quite a hot car.
Throw on some nice bigger wheels/tires, drop it a bit and you're set.

They can all have their BORING 4 DOOR SEDANS OR SPORT SEDANS.................WHAT EVER. I too plan to keep my CLS for a long time. In fact, I'm going to wrap it up and get back into my 98 Accord coupe and let the CLS sit for a couple of years. I'm looking at either a 2003 RL (ONLY if priced at a bargin to make way for the newer revised 04 models rumor or not) or a MDX. If I can get a loaded RL with Navi or $38K, I "may" be interested. I'M NOT INTERESTED IN A "SPORTS" 4 door car and the TSX 4 banger they can keep !

If Water-S' information about the end of production is true, then I think he is only half correct. I GUARANTEE everyone here that the CL will be replaced. The coupe market is bad only in certain sectors. The next CL or its replacement will know its market....more sport than luxury....just wait....the coupe market is just too hot to leave...
I don't see how anyone can compare the accord 6 sp to the cl-s in the same breath. All of the reviews I read of the accord said it had "edgy" handling, scrubbed the tires, etc etc. Sure it is fast in a straight line, but it looked like there were a BUNCH of mods to be made for it to handle as well as the CL-S out of the box.
but what do I know.
but what do I know.
thats old news
Ask any salesperson that question... Its old news... They told me that like a month ago.. they said b/c CL hasnt done as well as they suspected in the sales... but there gonna keep going on with the TL's (new models) and CL is discontinued for next semester of car sales

I know I really enjoyed my 5AT 01' CLS and almost stepped in to the 6MT - soooo close.I am surprised to see Acura get out of the market for so long, but I guess times are tight right now and they are focusing on new TSX, new TL, new RL, new NSX (busy trying to reclaim 4-dr market is key to Acura's future).
So I don't wanna hijack the thread, but was there any info on the TSX that you can share? MSRP would be a key one
