CL is a decent car in the snow, until......

well in vancouver we just got a major dump of snow and are getting some more. About 10 inches in the ground right now. I'm impressed at how easy the CL is to drive in the snow with good snow tires. Going through light powder is fairly easy and the snow covered freeway isn't bad. The longer wheel base helps keep it going straight and pointed in the right direction. Well i get within spitting distance of my house and well, theres a full 10 inches on the ground untouched.
The CL is a plow. i could move so far then the snow would stop me. shovel it out, go for another 20 feet. repeat as needed.
whats worst is that my neighbour pushed all the snow from his driveway on to the street making it about 20 inches deep.
well after about an hour of digging a path and shoveling some of the snow around my neighbours car. it's back in the driveway and staying there for now.

ok i buried my neighbours car with all the snow from my path. he'll think twice about push all the snow in in front of my house. i live at the very end of a cul-de-sac.

we're expecting more snow soon.

oh yeah i'd love to live in a place where there's no snow but love having ski resorts 45mins away from my house and Whistler Blackcomb about 2hours away.

I would get a old 4X4 for that purpose. No need to subject a nice car to that mess.

Yeah, once the snow is touching the bumper, not much you can do.

I guess they just get used to it.
And it becomes a everyday thing.

i live at the very end of a cul de sac too, so i know how it is to have everyone's snow all over the place.

I've been really contemplating getting a shitty 4x4, like a Wrangler or Bronco or something to take snowboarding and up to school for the winter, because dropped CL will hardly stand a chance up in the snow belt, where we get a foot and a half of snow per week

I have driven my CL in the snow many times and it does great. Not many FWD cars handle snow very well if they are buried to the nose in it. A lot of it has to do with knowing how to drive in snow though.

If you live where it snows a lot you just allow for extra time, no biggie.

yeah i have was very surprised how my car handled the snow this season. since buying new new tires, all seasons at that, a few months ago, it just plows right thru inches of snow like nothing. my car is impressing me more and more. got stuck in about a foot and a half of snow last nigh for a few minutes a little shoveling in front and get even a little momentum i just went thru like nothing. my whole front end was white,, as well as my tires. very surprised and pleased by my car's performance. ive been fiending for an AWD (g37x, test drove one, it is NICE!) but after seeing my cars performance, im not as pressed to get one anymore. ironically i saw an 08 g35x stuck in about a foot of snow on my way to work the other day. gave me 2nd thoughts. CL-S FWD FTW!!! hehe

When I bought my CL-S (6 speed), the other car I was considering was the G35, but the extra price plus being rear-wheel drive in the snow were the determining factors in getting the Acura. It's been great in the snow, especially with good winter tires.

holeshot_04 - I'm in the valley (Abbotsford), and we only got about 1/2 inch of snow last night. It's a nice reversal of getting less snow than the coast!

Yup nothing better than knowing the CL is in the garage when the nasty stuff comes down. Also my lifted explorer does MUCH better in the snow than any CL could dream of

Umm push the snow off and let the vehicle warm up for about 10 min. Get in and drive to work Not as bad as it looks when you have grown up in a snowy area. I have never missed a day of work do to snow and my company doesn't close.

Figured you guys took 2 hours to get that crap out the way or something. 10 minutes doesn't sound too bad at all.

I do the same. Start my car (and the g/f's car), and just brush them off as they warm up. Maybe do a quick shovel so the mailman can have a path. I get up a bit earlier just to have more time.

well there is no need to buy a 4x4. it doesn't snow like this every winter. i got around fine for the last 6 years in vancouver with a 89 trans am.
yeah it is a nice car but still it's almost my winter car / daily driver. got a bike for summer.
if i have to shovel the street to get to work i don't go.

Maybe it'll snow more. Then i can build a garage out of snow. I almost have the sides done in my driveway.

Yeah it has snowed a lot more than normal here in Detroit.

My CL-S6 with winter tires has done just fine. It does get a little hairy when the snow is 8+", as the front bumper and undercarriage will drag. But as long as you keep your momentum and drive smart its usually fine.

I'm lucky and am the "boss" at work, so I can come in later and wait until the roads are plowed before I leave for work.

The CL with snow tires is great in snow... I really miss it. The rear wheel drive G is absolutely useless
