well i would paint it body color...but it cant do anything but help in the heavily bias'd weight distribution...now move the battery to the trunk and you may as well use a light weight one while you're at it

those rims look like the SEMA rims....they're hot as hell !!!

BTW....i'm sellin 3 18" chrome Ace Mantas (same as above, but CHROME)... for 1500$$$ they have like 300 miles on the tires, and are in flawless condition! one rim was cracked in a accident i got in, so i'm selling the other 3...i bought them for $2800 with tires a few months ago....please only if your in tri-state area...

P.S.
I saw a carbon fiber hood on a CL somewhere on the forum, it looks hot, just like every CF hood on any car does....

No one seems to offer a custom CF hood for our car. It would save a bunch of weight and you could put some small, non-ricey heat extractors near the top of it to help cool our sweltering engine bay.

I don’t like the Carbon Fiber hood look.
Whenever I see one on a car I think it looks like the guy got in an accident and couldn’t afford to paint the damaged pieces.

The rims don't match the car. Nobody should put chrome rims on a silver car....and then leave it at the stock height. The hood would look better if that car was dumped on some gunmetal rims.

First thing I thought was that it was rondog's car... now that i know it's photoshopped... it just may be.

Anyway.. it doesn't look great on silver... I'd like to see it on blue....like on Shawn's car

As far as I can see from the picture, it looks the same. I would think if someone was going to come out with a custom hood, they would incorporate vents in it for cooling purposes...and it would look cool too.

If i get a carbon fiber hood id paint it ASAP!!!
U.V. rays deteriorate the carbon fast!!! look at older motorcycles with C/F mufflers. the top is probably faded and cracking, thats from U.V.

wow, good job.

but i don't think it would look good on a CLASSY silver car (cf hoods look kinda good on a silver civic or integra). i think it would look especially on black cl, kinda good on white, red and blue. but other than that...

The rims look like Ace Mantas. Look pretty sick I say. I called VIS awhile back asking when they were coming out with a carbon fiber hood for the 01' and they said it would come out sometime during the end of September or at least that is around the time they are hoping to release it.

personally I like carbon fiber hoods. It gives it that unique look.
although i've seen some cool set ups with carbon fiber hoods my favorite ever was on import tuner(it's a TV show) this girl(she owned the car) had a 240 or 300 ZX had a Salvia custom front end to the ZX(which the Salvia is Japan's version of the ZX) then she had this metalic paintjob on the carbon fiber hood wanna talk about tight but she dropped some serious cash

i wish i can get my hands on a CF engine hood and trunk hood. i like the contrast to the silver finish. and with possible some gunmetal wheels...tight!

hey acls,
where in VA BCH are you from? you may see ohio under my name, but i have lived in VABCH for 20 years. i lived near Salem Road.

U can have "ANY" color carbon fibre hood u want, and still be able to keep some what of teh carbon fibre appreance. Instead of that black and grey that u would normally associate with carbon fibre. U can have it in, say, silver. Where the checker pattern would kinda look like silver and grey, but still be able to keep that checker board apperance. All u do is add the color to the epoxy mixture, I don't believe you can use regular automotive paint. to color carbon fibre I would think that u would need ot use special paint that is formulated to work with the epoxy. Also u can add sparkles of any color to the epoxy mixture, for that true :ghey: touch.

Also about the UV fading the carbon fibre. Very true, but there are UV blockers that u can add to the epoxy mixture to prevent this from happening.

The CF hood can be painted to match the body color...here is one of my friend's friend's GSR with a CF hood painted to match the body color, durango blue...

P.S. I don't very much like it when people get CF and leave it in it's ugly honeycomb look...rather have it painted to match.
