Civic Type-R shifter placement...

I have never seen such a ridiculous placement of a manual shifter. Why don't they make things even more interesting and put it in the glove box?

It looks like a video game joystick. Maybe we should change to a SideWinder by Microsoft.

I so agree! My first thought when I saw that pic was that someone wanted you to look like you were stroking your car... and I don't mean the engine.

I guess Honda stole some things off the Alpha Romeo Spider.

Well, Honda has really done in now . This is ridiculous. The technical term describing this sort of shifter placement is actually f...ed up big time, I believe.

My friend actually had the AR spider, which had the shifter on the dashboard, and he liked it. It might look odd, but it doesnt mean its not comfortable.

It looks like something you would do to make it easier to rally in the car.. Bring the shifter closer to the steering wheel?

I was thinking the exact same thing... it looks like the shifters on the sequential gearboxes used in rally cars.

also similar to the shifters in certain series where the sanctioning body requires a mechanical linkage, even when pneumatic or electronic actuation is used.

Maybe its my juvenille, high school, perverted mindset speaking for me right now, but a girl could do *ahem* great things w/ that shifter.

Okay I think I just crossed that little thin line of normal-ness to perverted-ness....damn testosterone.

Who cares about a girl "doing things to that shifter?" I'm thinking about the room it gives her to do "great things" to me!!!
