Chod, SOOPA about cleaning the AEM filter...
Well im sure alot of people on this site has some kind of CAI intake... well i was wondering if you guys can make directions on how to clean the filter.. and put it in chod's FAQ, or on the board somewhere...

I don't know about cleaning it... but... YES...
The new AEM filter element is better then the K&N.
INJEN's filter is better then K&N too. I'd speculate thats how Injen was kickin AEM's butt on some dynos. But, AEM fired back... and their new filter definately is better then the ol' K&N.

Well, to get back on topic after all the thread hijacking...
K&N recommends cleaning at 30k mile intervals, if I remember correctly.
They also sell a filter cleaning and recharge kit.
You spray the cleaner on the filter, spray the filter with water, then soak it in a bath of cleaner and water for 30 mins or so. Let air dry, then spray a coat of silicone JUST ENOUGH TO COAT THE ELEMENT. DO NOT OVER-SPRAY.
Also, when in doubt check the K&N recharge instructions in the kit.

i only got about 4K on mine, and it's almost black at the tip of the cone what's that about???
i get the feeling it's gonna b a pain in the butt getting the filter off
