"Chick Car?"
Is our car a "chick car?"
IMO it is - & I'm okay with that. Most of my cars have been.
Regardless, most of the members here are male and without doing an age check i would guess in their late 20's to mid 40's. I know there are some over and under - but the majority.
The reason I bring it up is because of another post describing the CL as a "plainly styled" wannabe luxury car. I see the point and agree with the description to a point, but then why did you buy it? I bought it because it has a low key line and it was hands down the best bang for the buck. I just couldn't see paying 12k for a civic of the same age or any less of a car. I sold a 96 impala SS, which is bound to be a classic one day, and still feel like i got an upgrade.
So what is your take on it. I'm happy with what I bought so you aren't going to offend me - but i expect some differing opinions.

No, I rarely see any CL's around, and when I do, 90% of the time is a guy my age or 10 years older, 10% of the time they are hooked up and I get the head nod of approval when driving by. Back in 2001-2003, there were a few more chicks rolling in CL's, but I guess their need for an image car surpassed they ability to recognize that the CL is one hellava bargain and comfortable grand touring coupe since it is discontinued. I like it the way it is now, easy to appreciate and hard to come across.
I think it's girly looking since its a pretty car, but the more hp you get out of it the more testostorone you put in it.
Tons of cl's in Middle TN, most CLS are 22-40 yr old men. The CLP that I see are almost always girls that go to college around here.

I really don't think it's a girly car at all. I had a Mercedes C240, that was more of a chick's car.
Our car isn't a chick's car simply because of it's sleek extended lines. If it were a shorter car overall, then I think it'd be more girly. Also I don't think it's a "wannabe" luxury car, it's just what Acura always goes for, a higher end car but not too lxuurios, remember it's still a $33,000 car brand new.
ps. I've only seen one girl ever in a CL in my 8 months owning one.

But I don't really notice a specific demographic... I see old women (50's) and young chicks (20's mostly in 01 or 02's)... and young guys too...
I don't see very many old guys driving the CL's tho'...
I've seen all types of people driving CL's, so no, it's not a chick car...

That being said, who cares? People get too caught up in how cars make them look. I'm more concerned with my own driving experience and getting where I need to go..

but yeah, i don't think its a mans car nor girls car. a car is a car. i see guys driving beatles.. yeah, you're probably thinking. what a queer.. but some of those guys mod that shiz. a guy in my area boosted his turbo beatle like a mo'fo. i think thats cool for a guy, its different. but, the power in our cars is for a man, the luxury is part of a woman.

where they at...
Cars I see mostly hot bitches driving in my area: (Long Island)
Scion tC (I used to have one)
Mitsubishi Eclipse
Toyota Celica
Volkswagen Beetle, Jetta, Cabrio
Honda Civic
Acura RSX
Acura TSX
Infiniti G35 Sedan (I now own one)
Plus a whole lot of MILF's driving Escalades, Tahoes, Mountaineers, Navigators, and Aviators...
I just purchased a black on white 2007 Infiniti G35S (I wont call it a type-s lol). This is easily the nicest car I've ever driven and its what stopped me from getting a 2007 TL-s. For $1000 more MSRP it included a whole lot more stuff, besides I don't like the TL-s rims and the fact that its FWD...

^^^ This guy pretty much summed up the hot chick car list for westchester, and CT too. Scion tc being the most popular of late. As for our car being a chick car I bought my 03 cls 6mt from a fifty year old woman. Hey she liked to drive stick. (she babied that clutch) I couldn't care less who owned it before me, or better yet what our cars are percieved as. People focus too much on other peoples opinion, all I wanted was J32 power with a stick. Ohh and Acura quality. Hey If girls like it thats just a bonus for us.
There should be a clarification made here....Are we talking about the stock CL or the CL we find on here? The stock CL could be called a "chick" car, although I still find it uni-sex. The modded CL we have come to know and love is much less than a "chick" car.
In fact, I had 3 "chicks" ask me about my CL when I had it and all 3 of them say that although they like how it looked, it was plenty fast for them as a stock car, and they thought the ride height was low to begin with, and the only mod they would do is tint the windows. Two of these "chicks" drove 6 speeds.

This car is like the deodorant "Secret" strong enough for a man but beautiful enough for a woman.
In my opinion, CL's are pretty feminine looking, but I always see guys driving them... I've only seen one other female driving a CL so far, and she looked like she was in her 60's. I have yet to meet a girl who even knows what a CL is

I am a chick and I drive a CLS 6 speed. I wouldn't consider it a "Chick Car" I always have guys pull up to me like they wanna race and as soon as they realize it's a female driving it (like they stole it LOL) they back off!! I consider a "Chick Car" like a Cabrio, Scion, or a Civic. LOL
