Be careful with those cheap spoilers. Alot of them don't take paint very well. I heard about problems with the aftermarket M3/M5 spoilers peeling and cracking.

it's a replica of the m3/m5 spoiler. i think other's have bought this before, it's been sold on ebay for really cheap.

i've heard of others putting this on their car instead of dishing out the full price at c-c-c.net for the oem bmw m3 or m5 spoiler

Yea I think it's the m3/5 spoiler too. If you look at the M3 lip spoiler on their site, it's pretty much the same pic.

WTF does this have to do w/ the post?? On another subject, $69 for a spoiler? I say you get what you pay for-CRAP!

If my memory serves me correctly I believe this lip on the trunk is the same if not similar to the lip thats on the SEMA cl-s you can use that as a guide line. I agree with NSXNEXT you should check to see how well paint holds on.

IMO, the OEM spoiler looks great on SMR. If I were you I wouldn't change it.

Here is the M5 Lip spoiler...I did lot of reading about the other lip spoiler's and found that everyone liked the OEM BMW M5 lip spoiler better then any on the knock-offs. Apperntly there is some sanding and fill worl that has to be done to get the knock-off spoiler ready for paint and application to the car. Just my 2 cets

This is very true. We sell the replica lip spoilers as well as the genuine BMW lip spoilers and you can definitely feel a difference in quality.

While the BMW spoilers outsell the replicas 10-1, so far, the replicas we've sold have not had any reported problems with peeling, etc., but that could be b/c the customer's paint shop used good paint and additives, but you never know.

I personally went with the BMW OEM spoiler (M5) b/c I feel you get what you pay for with this stuff... and $130 for a spoiler on a $30k+ car seemed worth it to me.
