Check engine light flashing

On my way to work this morning I pull out of parking lot and give it a little too much gas on the wet roads and experince a little wheel hop. The next thing I know the CEL is flashing and continues for about 1 minute then goes off. I drove about 5 more miles to work and with the car running perfectly fine. Doesn't the CEL usually come one and stay on? I have never had a CEL flash at me before. When I get a chance I will stop by autozone and have them pull the code. Anyone think I should bother going to the dealer yet?

I wouldn't think it is worth it to go to the dealer already. Does Autozone charge for this service?

I think it's free.

If you look under the "not an ashtray" container, there is an "L" shaped piece of plastic that can be removed. Feel around the top, it pulls right out. The ODBII port is behind that.

Sorry to sound stupid

Are you saying that there will only be a code if the light stays solid? and if it just flashes for a minute that there would be no code, like in my situation?

You actually seconded my opinion of the misfire.

i thought for six speeders the obd-ii port is located somewhere else? Like right under the driver side dash.

Yes it is for random misfires and it is normal with excessive wheel hop.
