Has anyone's check engine light ever come on as you reved your CL between 6000 to 6800 RPM? WELL, mine did for like for 3-5 seconds then it stoped. Never seen it do that before. Asked Acura dealer and they told me that the car was warning me that I was about to red-line! WTF? A car doesn't warn you when you are about to redline! Anyone have some insight on this? Ever happened to you?
p.s. I use redline 5-W20 if that matters.

I had the SES ligth flash for about ten seconds not long ago. It occured with serious wheel hop so I am guessing it was temporary code for random misfires. No code was stored when I checked it.

 

i think your suppose to use 5w30, and I red line my car every single day and it reaches fuel cut off , they where just bssing u to get u off the phone.

 

The '03 calls for 5w-20.

 

They told me that if the light went off then there was no codes. I know they were bs-ing me about the warning, TIM SMITH Acura sucks (Ft. Walton, FL). Since then I swapped from Redline 5W-20 to 5W-30 Mobil1 and she runs like a champ!
