Cheap Hid's
Cheap Hid's
Found a cheap place for hid's, it's where i got my 8500k bulbs from, figured i would share with you guys!http://www.globalpremier.com/
8500k HID bulbs will be way too purple, comparing with stock 4100K D2R bulbs, also they are about half bright as the stock HID bulbs which IMO defeats the purpose of having HIDs.
OEM Philips D2S is 3200lm bright (+/-450lm) and 4100K colortemp (0.380x 0.390y). (For comparison)
Philips Ultinon D2S is 2400lm bright (+/-250lm) and 5800K colortemp (0.327X 0.312Y).
As you can see that 6000K Ultinons (people usually call them 6000K while they are actually rated at 5800K), only produces 75% of light comparing with OEM 4100K bulbs, therefore 8500K bulbs will be about half bright or less as the stock HIDs.
Don't get offended. just my 2 cents.

Those are not even Philips bulbs, some cheap blue coating HID bulbs.
You can check out the following website to find out the real answer.

Hopefully that's gonna somehow convince you! And if 6000K bulbs are brighter than OEM bulbs, why don't dealers use 6000K by default instead?
You know some people are so ungrateful, i try to help others out and wind up getting drilled by certain people, look i have had my bulbs for a few months and not one problem so if people want to by hid's at a good price let them buy em, one more thing i don't think BMW uses 4100k bulbs in their cars, do they?
OPINIONS ARE LIKE ASSHOLES EVERYONE HAS ONE!!!!!

The projector lens is like an magnifying glass which separate the light into several color band like what we learned in high school physics. That's why you see BMWs light are so colorful from different angle. From Purple-blue-white-yellow. But if u look close up the projector lens in person, u will realize that the bulb color are as yellowish-white as our HIDs. Because our HID low beams are reflectors, that's why we don't get the plasma effect as them!

The picture is a BMW X5 low beam pattern, as you can see the blue cue on top edge is what makes you think they are 6000K, but look at the road pattern part, they are just like our HID colors.
Even if u go to BMW dealship, and buy one of their D2S hid bulbs, they are Philips OEM 4100K. Philips only 6000K for aftermarket uses. So if you manage to retrofit the "BMW" bulbs into your CL, it won't make much difference in color beside it's brightness. D2S is brighter comparing with our D2Rs, but SAME COLOR!
Again Kelvin meansurements means color, not brightness, higher kelvin means less brightness.
You can get 20000K HID bulbs which shines black. and OEMs are Not using your 8500K bulbs. enouf said

HID bulbs usually have a burn-in period, when the bulbs are new, the first 100 hrs running time will be a bit yellowish, then it will start turning whiter. Also the distance you looking at the light is another factor too, with your headlight, you are staring at the light on the ground when u r sitting inside ur car. But if you walk away for about 50ft, u will notice that your headlights are not as yellow as you see when you were sitting in the car.
