Cheap Chains or SoFla Shops For A Timing Belt?

7 years old and 105k on my 2001 so I know its def time for a timing belt. I shudder at the expense but this is one of the select things I just really dont wanna do myself despite not having $1000 to spend on it.

does anyone know of any chains that are cheaper than others on this, or perhaps any shops in SoFla that offer a deal? Cheapest I have found so far was $700 and change.

Check out CarTek in Davie

http://www.cartek-tuning.com/

They have done work for my friends, fuzzy (on here) and I. Unfortunately I cannot remember how much they quoted me for timing belt, but I believe it was reasonable.

I just called Cartek to get mine done and I was quoted $450 (w/o tax) for Timing belt, water pump and labor.

Yeah, I was very suprised myself.

The cheapest I was able to find before that was $621, and all the other Honda/Acura places were trying some b/s on the phone (like telling me I need to replace spark plug wires, which we don't have ). That was some scum bag at Acura of Pembroke Pines Service dept. BTW.

Alright, I got my Timing belt, Water Pump, and a couple of other things changed today at Cartek.

Pricing break down for timing belt and water pump for the rest of you locals goes like this:
Labor: $280 (for Timing belt, water pump and drive belts)
Timing Belt: $54.66
Water Pump: $125.89

Total: $460.55 w/o Tax & shop fee.

The job was done reasonably quick and the service was top notch. All parts were OEM and the car is running excellent as always.

Good to know. Hopefully they will still be around in a few years & still be reasonable. Only at 70K.
