CEL Flashing during ON position
CEL Flashing during ON position
Found out today when I started my CLS6. I turned the car on the ON Position (before engine startup) and for about 10 sec. my CEL started to flash about 5 times and then it turns off. huh? I don't have the CEL on but it always happens when its on the ON position. The car drives good but I think my IAC valve is acting up again never changed it but I clean it before. 5 flashes could mean something? I have about 55kmiles and I"m S/C. before I had a code P1701 running lean and I got my valves adjusted and CEL went away. no more ticking. I tried to search but I couldn't find anything. anybody with a helms manual? car starts up fine, my a/f ratio is about 11.3 at WOT. runs great. is my motor shot????
is it normal? I thought it would just turn off instead of flashing? hmmm....well my CL-S is hibernating for the winter. I start her up from time to time. can anyone check to see if the CEL is flashing in your rides?
totally normal all cars do it Acuras, Nissans they flash because the computer is doing a self diagnosis on itself. im not sure on acuras but on nissans (im a nissan tech) you only worry when the light stays lit cause then theres a problem. so you shouldnt worry about a blinky light (unless its blinking while driving then theres some serious damage going on)
