CD Changer Error-E1 or something
so I go to replace 1 of the CD with my new Nas cd and it doesn't eject. Keeps displaying Er-E1 or something. This has happened before -i just turn it off and then on and it worked. This time -nothing.
Time for a trip to the dealer? Does this error require replacing the changer? How long will this take? (have to order parts, etc?)
can't live without CDs, ATL radio stations blow

I had the same thing happen to me a few months ago. CD's wouldn't eject, and I kept getting those error messages. So I took it to the dealer, and they put in a new changer, no questions asked. I just had to wait about 1 day for them to get the part and swap it. No problems since.

I've had the problem too. I get it about once a month. When I first took it to the dealer, they couldn't make it error so they didn't do anything. I've tried since. Just keep trying and eventually it will eject.

werd...i have the problem too...trys to eject (door open etc.) but cd seems 'stuck'. i have had to push another CD in part way and then the other one comes out...i think the alignment of the CD feeder and the external faceplate gets out of whack and prevents ejecting of certain disks...is high on my list of stuff to have fixed under warrenty when i have time.

I've gotten my cd changer replaced once for this error and am waiting for them to fix it again (it happened to the new unit one day after I got my car back.) Of course, acura seems to want to blame me and my CD's (they claim I placed CDR's with labels in them and I didn't.)

Same thing here. I rarley use CD-Rs and if I do, they don't have labels. Every once and a while a cd will get stuck in there on eject, i'll just push it with a key and it usually comes right out.

Just slide another CD in there to dislodge it. It's just stuck. It can also happen when you hit a bump or something while tryin to eject. It's minor, I'm sure you'll see it happen on more cars as more of them are implementing 6 disc indash changers.

Well, this JUST happened to me this morning. Mine just flashes Ejec for a long time and then finally displays the Er-E1 code on the display. The cd door never opens during this process and the player is not making any noise at all. I can get the CD door open, is there any way to try to dislodge it? Or should I just not try anything and take a dreaded trip to the slow ass dealer?

do NOT use CDR's with labels, it happened to me and I had to get my CD player replaced (under warranty). The old CD player goes to the factory and you get your CD's back in a month or two.........

I had the same problem. It started when I played a home made CD with a paper label, which the manual tells us not to put in the player. Anyway, I started getting the dreaded Err E1 message. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the CD player for free.

well its gotten bad enough for me that it constantly wouldn't work for about 2 weeks... the dealer saw it; they replaced it. of course my CD's i got 4 weeks later being to Marysville and back.
anyway if you want a new one (which i heard they updated because i'm not getting ANY more problems with the new deck)... just hope that its still gives you ER-E1 when you take it to the dealer.

Well, they must not have fixed it yet for my car because I'm waiting to replace it again after it failed two weeks ago.
Also, it fails even when you don't put in a cd with a self-made label.

ok yeah.........i seem to be getting the same problem but after repeated tries it seems to recover. I have a bad feeling I am going to get the Er-E1 error and it will stay there for good in a litttl while. I am not using CDs with labels either. I have about 3 Sony burned CDs in there all plain, no labels.

try turning off car and holding eject button
it might try to eject all the cd's or use something slim that wont break like another cd and try to push or lift the cd if the door opens.

this has happened to me 2xs already in less than 6 months and many thins can or cannot fix the problem... so it seems for me. Sometimes one thing works and other times vice versa. first time I tried eject a bunch of times and that didn't work so I drove around for 1/2 the day and later I did it again after the car had been re-turned on and i pressed some buttons and then eject and voila.
I IMMEDIATELY took the CD out and trashed it.
This error crap only comes about when a burnt CD is playing (i don't know about everyone else) So... I think it puts extra work on the CD system cause, lets be honest, that was back when cd burning was still kinda being fine tuned with certain coding and whatnot. SO, our deck isn't that sophisticated so to speak and I conclude may burnt CDs SOMETIMES, and I mean rarely, but sometimes F my deck up.
I wonder if it'll happen one day and i'm screwed for good?

All Cls will have this problem sooner or later. Just keep going after the CD eject buttons in combo with other buttons and sooner or later the CDs will eject. Might take 5 minutes of playing with it. After it's out you might be able to get one CD back in. The unit will play just fine then. The problem isn't the playing function, it's the changing mechanism which gets screwed up. Most with this problem just buy an after market radio and move on. The warranties have long run out on the radios.

CD Issue
Mine just started doing this. It happened after I put in a burned CD. I tried sticking another CD in to dislodge it, but there was nothing there to dislodge. I did discover that if I applied pressure to the front of the radio with both hands, the cd loaded and then ejected with no problem. Perhaps that the player wires may have come loose in the back or it has been jarred to the point of needing total replacement. Good luck

infamous cd changer problem
I just bought a 2002 CL & the cd changer does not work I am getting the infamous ER! code. I opened the changer door & shinned a led light inside & could not see a disc & when I try & load one it won't go in. Should I just do an after market player & if so any suggestions one a good one. I would also like to add an amp & sub any suggestions.

Not too sure if disconnecting the battery is gonna help. Depends on how it's stuck. Myself, when I try to access the 3rd-6th slots, the door opens, telling me to load a disc, however I can see the tray positioned diagonally, at like a 30 degree angle. I doubt disconnecting the battery is gonna make those trays physically reposition themselves.

You're right because obviously you've tried it and I haven't.
Good luck.

Last time I unplugged my battery then plugged it back in, all the CD changer did was ask for the radio code before startup. It didn't try to recalibrate or anything.

Yea, battery pulling might help. For me, it didn't
The root of the problem (at least for me) is that the CD is misaligned with the exit path. Slip another CD under the stuck one, and lift it a little. If you wiggle it a little while it's making a pathetic attempt to eject, it should come out.
Afterwords, stop burning CDs and start supporting the music industry.
