4.30's in a beast like that... can't even imagine what that would feel like. You should be romping stock or even modded '03's who haven't changed their final drive ratio with that bad boy... although it might be a bit much for quarter mile...

 

Nah...4th gear tops out at 126...actually perfect for the 1/4, however, launching and getting traction are tough with that much gear.

I do just fine against stock and bolt-on (non-KB) 03s throught 1/4 and beyond

 

thinking about switching to 4.10's in my ride.. I definitely have too much gear. I think 2nd goes all the way to 80+???

Oh, and I got rolled on by a *sweet* '02 Eclipse on highway yesterday... at first, I couldn't figure out what he was doing... he kept slowing down, speeding up, waving his hands in the air... I thought he was on crack or something. Anyways, we continued like this for a while, and finally there was a car in front of me, so I wanted to switch into the Eclipse's lane. The Eclipse guy thought I was finally gonna punch it (I kind of pulled ahead slowly) so he tried to ram the gas (I think... it wasn't going anywhere) I downshifted to fifth and cut him off. <shrug> Not much of a race I guess... I was more confused than anything else. Hahaha....

 

Well, the way I would phrase that is you don't "have enough gear" if you want to go from the stock gearing to 4.10s that's just slang anyway, but wanted the jargon to match what I said in my prior posts.

Really, with a positive displacement blower, you might find 4.10s to be too much gear. 3.90s are a popular choice for the 03 guys, but if you do most of your "spirited" driving from a roll or just want that overgeared feel on the street, 4.10s would make you happy indeed.

 

I would imagine that it would be a huge pita to launch an 03 cobra with steeper than stock gears, unless you are running on slicks. Hell, my 5.0 with 300lb ft of tq has problems hooking up, so I cant imagine a modded 03 cobra with 500lb ft of tq off idle..
