caught a c5 in the wrong gear

at a 2 lane rd and the vette is in the front, theres a camry infront of me beside the vette, the camry turns right, i gun it to catch up to the vette he was just accelerating normal, as i was at his bak bumper i heard him nail it but he caught the ass bottom of secong gear and i got ahed of him before my lane ended

pretty lame story but i was just laughing my ass off at the look on his girlfriends face when he was floorin it and couldnt get passed me of course he stayed like 1/8 of a mile behind me after, i slowed doen alot though but he still kept his distance, i wanted to get a better shot of his g/f

how is that tough to believe,

i aint even gonna waste my time w/ u

if i have the mometum from goin WOT through the 1-2 shift and i'm flloring it and the vette floors i'd say at about 35-40mph, it was an auto so i'm guessing he caught 2nd gear, IF he would of caught 1st i know he woud of walked away

I AM NOT SAYING MY CAR US FASTR THAN A VETTE, LOOK AT THE TITILE OF THE THREAD U DUMB FUCK, I CAUGHT IT IN THE WRONG GEAR

Dang, your car seems pretty quick to even hang with a Vette in any gear... if the Vette floored it too, I would assume that it would downshift and murder you, even if it was starting out in the wrong gear.

We need to hit the track... I wanna give you a run before I get my blower in. Well I suppose I can give you a run after I get my blower as well... your car is pretty quick... maybe it will give me a run for my money anyways?

Naw, I just wanna see your car run... my buddy has an Auto CL-S, and the best we could manage was a 15.5... But he does have 18's on it. I think your car is freaking smoking for a CL-s, just curious to see how it launches and pulls. PM me if you're thinking about going to the track... I already got 400 miles on the ride, so I'll probably be at 1k soon. =)

Yeah, I was gonna get a blower for the GT, and it would have been mean as hell, but I was afraid the car would explode if I was too hard on it.... hhahahha. Hypereutectic rods suck ass.

Damn... hemi cuda? I'll run just to see it go. YOu have a roll cage in it? I saw one at Milan a month ago, ran 11.2... Pretty damn mean... There was also a Dodge Superbee? (I think) It ran 9.8 at 78mph, which means that the guy was sandbagging... I wonder how fast that thing really runs!

Lol, it's not mine yet. No roll cage, and it's a convertable Not an original hemicuda...there were only 14 of the converts made! NADA $275,000+, last one sold at auction for over $1M. This one started life with one of the smaller V8s, and my grandfather got tired of that, dropped in the hemi, shaker hood, Hemi paint job, etc. When I get it, I'll prob strip it down and start over. I love that car...Just the feeling of totally breaking the tires loose - not chirping them - at 50mph is awesome - and you know <10mpg is awesome hehe. BUT - I'm not mature enough at 18 to handle the car.

Oh and btw, the stang is sweet man...

hahaha...

Lucky punk... only 18 and you got your hands on a Hemi Cuda.... Yeah, I figured it was wasn't original, but it's even crazier if you had work done to the hemi. I wouldn't run it too much either on the street unless you have serious experience... my buddy had a chevelle with a big block (429 maybe?) and it was a beast to handle...

Yeah, the stang should be fun at the track. I'm particularly looking at running a stage 3 Roush I saw there last time, and a couple of Mach1 Mustangs (modded... trapped 12.7 and 12.1) I want to run a STi, but this being michigan it seems like everyone here runs domestics...

Better edit this to early 70's as nearly everything after about 72/73 sucked hard once the emissions controls came into play.

Put a T-Trim on that bitch...I am dying to see what that bullet can make with 18 pounds of spuds from a real blower.

Actually the twin screw compressor is one of the best designs available. It has nearly the same efficiency at higher RPMs as a centrifugal unit. All while providing low RPM boost unlike a cetrifugal unit.

I know the KB is good, but I'd still like to see a centrifugal on there.

As I don;t know anyone who's done it on this application, it's mere conjecture, but at high boost pressures, say 18-20+ I would think the KB would not hold up as beaing as efficient as a large centrifugal.

Low rpm boost pressure has never been a big deal to me, as there is always a shifter and even at my lower power level, I have more than enough to light the hides at any rpm.

I'd like to see the flow chart on the units but generally the twin screw units are nearly as good at the higher boost levels. But then again it is very specific to the unit in question and what its design limitations are.

However:

Centrifugal and Twin Screw > Roots

damn...

that's some serious power. I'm glad ur not around here, you'd smoke me out like some cheap weed. You running an SHM forged longblock, or some kinda forged motor? Otherwise, I'd hate to be next to you when you grenade a con-rod into my front fascia... =)

Stock Eaton with smaller pulley, CAI, exhaust can make those numbers... not that it's not impressive, just wondering what your power curve looks like. Have dyno charts? I'm still thinking what kinda mods are going on my snake... =)

Oh, i know the eaton with a smaller pulley will make that....the 03 is the new Supra with that factory forged bullet.

Stock block here...it'll blow someday I am sure, but I kep the tune "safe" at 11.0:1 at the sacrifice of more power. COuld make 490-500 if I wanted to add some more timing and lean it out to 12.0 or so.

I wanna see someone put a big centrifugal on there, not my wimpy 11psi S-Trim.

haha.... 11psi S-trim... that sounds mean as hell. Must be pretty nasty to launch. I'm already having problems with the IRS launching (likes to hop a bit on the rear end if I drop too quickly) I don't know if the rods in the cobra are the same as the GT.. (hypereutectic crap), basically that's why I ended up selling the GT and getting a Cobra... was originally gonna drop a KB twin screw on the GT, but was afraid it would grenade in my face.... =)

Hey, the Cobra (pre 03) has hypereutectic pistons and the same rods as the GT.

Mine is real rough to launch, mostly cause I still have the 4.30s in there from when i was N/A...solid axle though, so i don;t have your wheel hop woes.

If I didn;t love being overgeared for fun on the street, I;d swap them to 3.73 or 3.90s for 1/4 mile racing....the 4.30s are perfect for highway racing though anywhere 50-70 and I can drop right into the real meat of it in 3rd and roll through 4th. 5th gear pulls hard as hell, too with the 4.30s.
