Caster is off, what do i need to get?

Went to alignment today, the guy told me my caster is off, and suggest I get an aftermarket camber kit and he will adjust it for free.

I searched around, what I don't get is the two different type of camber kit

Theres the ball joints camber kit which is only the join part and control arm w/ ball joints.

Which one do I really need? Whats the main different between the two?

the ball joint is all you really need, unless you are trying to completely DUMP your car. the control arm uses a ball joint on a plate that allows it to slide for adjustment. it also does not have any part of the joint stick up above the arm. this allows the arm to travel upwards and not let the joint hit the top of the shock tower.

Is your Caster or Camber out of spec? They are two different things. If your caster is out, you may have a bent component. If your camber is out, then the ball joint kits will work.

I don't know if everyone suggests Ingalls. I'm running SPC kits - they're working fine for me and they're cheaper.

Yeah what Allout said. If it is caster there is no adjusment for it. If it is out of spec and cross caster is more than .5 degrees (the difference between the two sides) than it 'may' pull to the side w/ less caster.

To adjust caster, you just add or subtract shims.

Positive caster results in more negative camber during hard cornering. But on the down side, more steering effort. But you also get better straight line stability.

Hey 2K1CLtypeS, I stand corrected. My damn alignment guy was wrong as he said L and R caster was within spec, but my cross caster was over 1 degree and that's why it pulled to the right and it couldn't be adjusted unless I changed major parts. Funny thing is it was only after a change of wheels of same size and offset - CL-S to TSX 17x7, but the same set of tires. I drove into the tire shop w/ straight tracking and then drove out pulling to the right and steering wheel off center to the right. Car tracks okay after alignment and shifting wheels front to back, but I am gonna take it to my regular Honda/Acura Independent guy to get my cross caster <.5 degrees.
And Mahalo brah! I'm from Kaneohe.

SO SO what does this mean? Ball joint or Control Arm?

The alignment guy showed me picture of caster adjustment as well, but he said he can't really add/subtract shims due to the stock setting. Thats why he recommended me to get an aftermarket camber kit so he can adjust it within warranty.

The car is currently pulling a little to the right because of negative caster on the right.

Your Caster is out of specs - Correct? Print out the page on Caster adjustment and take it to a shop that can do it.

If your Camber is OK, why are you considering buying camber kits?
