Anybody every purchased a car through carsdirect.com?
I helped my parents purchase Maxima 2003 SE from a dealer, carsdirect.com was exactly the price I we got it from the dealer after hours of long negotiations.
I wonder if its a good idea just to place an order through carsdirect.com directly to avoid all this hassle of negotiations.... they have "low price guaranty" and will reimbure the difference in 3 days...
Salesman are just waste..... when I showed carsdirect.com print out they told me its not for real and crap like that... but in the end I got exact same price....

usually on most carsdirect.com purchases there is an option to either purchase it through them, or through a "VIP" dealership that works w/them at the same web listed price...if i were you I would do the latter cause I'm not 2 comfortable w/handing over thousands of dollars over the phone

Dealers get angree when you mention carsdirect.com.... but in the end they most likely match the price...... but they won't do it easy, they will try to tell you that it's a *lie* and so on... basicly waste yours and their time, and in the end you get the price from carsdirect.com ( if you continue to be firm on it).
Righnow friend of mine looking to buy Pathfinder, its MSRP is 34500, and according to cars direct you can get it for 30500-31000.... ($1000 below invoice)... dealers get mad when you show them print out..... but they have to match it, cause you can just get it through carsdirect.com....
Not to be rude, but I hate salesman.... just a freaken middle man that is trying to suck blood ( parasite).
Who needs them? People should be able to buy directly from manufacture....

i see ur point bro and understand completely...usually if there is limited availability on the car u want, they (carsdirect) would list it...however, if u do want 2 proceed further w/carsdirect.com, u do have to give them a credit card number although nothing is charged on it at all....they make it pretty clear u won't be charged for anything and state that the credit card is simply to confirm that u are serious abt getting a car and basically not wasting their time
I helped my friend get his 2002 mb430 SE through carsdirect for $3k under invoice (manufact. rebate), my friend dealt w/some dlrship in Conn. instead of going through the carsdirect.com reps., but all in all, was happy w/his experience
personally, even if u don't purchase a car from them, print out their quote, go 2 the dlrships w/that quote and raise hell
good luck
