carsdirect.com ?
anybody know anything about this? they quoted me about 300 above invoice for a cl-s, anybody know of anybody buying a car from them or how it works? i am a little cautious about buying a car online, and im thinking that in a couple of months when i do wanna buy it it should be around invoice anyway being the 2002 is coming out. any ideas? any ideas on what price i should get from a dealer in the next couple months? thanks

When I tried to use them the initial price sounds good but then they start adding stuff on. I think there is like a $500 service fee for using them and some others. You can get it at a dealer for ~500 over invoice at a dealer.

I almost went to work for carsdirect when they were first getting started. They're a solid outfot. TO source cars, they bought into a couple huge auto malls, so they could get access to inventory.
They charge a "deposit" of like $200 that's applied to the final purchase price. They'll give youa fiar price (ususally a bit over invoice) for the car you want to buy. At this point, that's about what you could negotiate on your own though.
Their delivery mechanism is strange tho. Sometimes, they deliver it to you on a truck to your house. I've heard of other people having to drive like 50 miles to take delivery because they weren't able to source near the buyer.
My $0.02.
