Carrera 2

I was coming home on a wide, back roads highway the other afternoon and came up on a Carerra C2 (993 version, not new 996). He was clearly anxious to get around the traffic that was holding him up, so I knew that when we came to the uphill where the road split to 4 lanes, he would be off. We rolled along at about 45 and as the traffic moved over, we both gunned it. I redlined SS up through second and third and was right on his tail. He didn't gain an inch until about 120 and 4th gear. After that he started to pull away. I shut it down as soon as he began to pull and he did the same. Further down the road we pulled up along side eachother at a light and he gave a friendly smile and wave. From a standing start, I have no doubt that I would have been owned like no other, but I was really suprised at how well the CL could hang. Maybe he wasn't fully on it, don't know...no flames please, just telling it like it happened.

The next time.... when you beat him... ask him if its a real porsche or a 'kit car'!
