Carfax and what I found out
This sucks I just found out my car was in an accident (minor to moderate). I bought it from an acura dealer in northern nj and Im almost positive that I asked if anyhting happened with the car bc I traded my car in and they asked me. Wouldnt you think that they would tell me this before selling me the car or was it my own stupidity for not using carfax first. Let me know what you think and what I should do. Im defiantely going to call tom and bitch them out.
Should car fax every car. Nomatter what year or what milage or what the car looks like. I was gonna buy a 92 eclipse with 68k on it. Looked very good. i did a carfax. It had 168k. I almost fell over.
I once did a Carfax on an 98 Accord that I had. Carfax showed it had no accidents. I actually had 2 accidents, both accidents repaired by Honda at the tune of $2,500 and both reported to the Police....
I do not trust Carfax except for maybe confirming mileage..

I actually did check out the paint, the only thing I saw was alittle crack in the paint on the back bumper, nothing major. The car fax said no airbags deployed but that could mean nothing. Im goin to call today and ask what had actually happened. But I probably will not get anyhting out of it except alot of complaining towards acura of MAWAH
Its DMV that reports info to carfax, for those that don't know.
There was $16k in damage on the Viper when that bitch hit me, nothing ever showed on carfax.
So, its hit or miss with them......

When I was looking for a car....went to Rosenthal Acura ....they showed me carfax report......car looked like it was run over by dumpster truck....but report was clean......you can tell by car if it was in accidents or not.
Look at paint.....and best one to tell right from first look is......see if distance is equal between fenders and hood......because no body shop can match them up back again IF it was a front end serious collision.
But Carfax isn’t dependable

they may have not know, i guess they don't do carfaxes there, my experience with carfax is hit or miss, my car had like $8000.00 damage when it was 3 months old and to this day, no record of damage or accident shows up on carfax, i also ran a mercedes clk430 that had $32,000.00 in damage when it was 6 months old (that was 4 years ago) and it shows up clean no accidents
