Carbon hood allignment

So FINALLY I have time this semester to deal with some of the issues of my cl-s6. I've noticed a few of you guys are running carbon fiber hoods with oem dampers and no hood pins. How are your hoods on so straight? when the hood was first put on it seemed pretty well alligned but now I have probably an eighth inch gap above my passenger fender. I'm guessing maybe it's the Florida heat down here but when I look at the top corner of the hood it doesn't seem to be completely alligned with the fender (up by the windshield). I just ordered a set of pins but I wanted to know how I can adjust the hood before drilling (shift hood slightly to the left). I've read on here that i just gotta loosen the 2 bolts on the bracket and shift but neither of these bolt holes are slotted? Do I need shims? idk body work has never been my favorite. thanks guys.

It's just trial and error, you can loosen the bolts and shift it around slightly, you just have to play with it really

I figured as much. Just a little worried about bending/flexing the carbon while shifting the hood. Thanks though..I'm going to give it another shot at lunch time.

Ive noticed when I had my CF hood on the car that the stock struts push the sides up. Remove them or get weaker struts should help that.

no problems with my cf hood and oem hood shocks. although i did put in hood pins (also made a diy on it) bc the corners of the cf hood by the lights would wobble at high high speed. about 120-130+++

Pins weigh 2lbs at the most with all hardware, even with them youre still saving weight.

I'd be careful at that speed with a CF hood. I've heard of hoods flying off, completely coming off from the braces and seen pictures of it.

You definitely want at least 2 people to mess with the hood, makes a world of difference

Wow. It seems as though every part that ViS pumps out has different fitment problems.

I had to drill out the slot to modify the latch...but I got it to match up pretty good.

I had to file away quite a bit of material to get the hood to close. It would hit the bumper and not go any lower.

And the front corner where the headlight/fender meet the hood pops up a bit. Dont get me started on the trunk
