If I buy a cf hood is there anyway I can paint it black so it doesn't look likes it c/f? sleeperrrr

 

I'm sure it's possible, but I think it would look really cool on your black car if you leave it as it is.

to my knowledge, our hood is not too heavy for a hood. Maybe money can be spent better on something else?

 

its pointless if you paint over it, you wont lose that much weight. If you did some type of design on it, that would be pretty sweet, but not fully painted

 

hood = 40+lbs.
cf= 19lbs.

 

i always thought it would be cool to paint the outer part of the hood where there is a light crease in it. i knew someone that did that on a SSM 01 accord. it looked hott. i think you should paint it. be the first one to have it on the forum!

 

I have thought that too, i think it would look better on a non black cl though, it wouldnt be that noticeable, any other color and it would be sweet

 

I was planning to do that on my ABP TL. I was also going to clear my headlights, and instead of blacking them out.. painting them with ABP paint to match the edges of the hood, then black out the grill to match the carbon in the middle.

I got to caught up with selling our house and moving, so I decided against it. That and I'm at 70k miles, so I'm not sure how much longer I'll have my car (want to sell it before I get too close to 100k)..... so I sold the hood a few weeks ago and recouped my funds.....

 

^^^ your idea sounds really hot...i think theres a 03 TLS some kinda special edition and it has body colored housings in the headlights and some special spoiler with a crazy sidemarker on the side of it. sounds like your idea would be cool tho

 

Yeah, that's the 2002 TL-S Aspec. Canada only release for that year.. and you need a VIN number to get parts.. and they are very expensive. Only comes in two colors... black and Aegean Blue (which is what I need)... but much cheaper to just paint the housings myself

 

would a cf hood be worth it... about -20 pds lighter???
