Car wouldnt start today

I have noticed in the past few months my car would not start up right away. Its not like it sits and turns and turns over beforestarting. I put the key in, turn it, nothing happens for about 1-2 seconds then bam it starts. But today i went to start it and nothing happened. all the accesories were on and everything was functioning. I took the key out locked and unlocked the car but nothing happened. Finally it started. And once it started there was no hesitation at all. What the hell can this be. It freaked me out. It feels like the chip on the key may be faulty or something.

was this part of the ignition recall. I thought it was for cars idling rough or shutting off at a light or something.

Bigman, do you have a lot of stuff on your keychain, like other keys or metal stuff?

I've been told by Acura that the chips are a little "flaky" and if you have too much "stuff" on your key chain, it can cause the chip to not be read.

Try it out.

Shit Neil you may be right, i called the dealer and he told me not to worry, that this is a common problem for the RL. My father has the same problem every once and a while with his Benzo. I only have a house key on the key chain, but i will switch keys with the spare and see what happens.
