when my car is in drive and i either have the foot on the break, or when im idling very slowly, and sometimes even when the car is started and just in park, i hear something rattling under the hood, but these are the only times? its been doing this for a while but not necessarily every time. does anyone ahve any ideas at all? thanks

Use your noise supressor that is built into the dash so you can't hear it anymore.

 

Sounds like a loose hood latch to me. I had the same exact problem you describe when I first bought my 6-speed. Dealer readjusted the latch points, and no more rattling at idle.

 

My exact problem turned out to be an idler pully.

 

My cold air intake was loose.....it made a rattle at idle and right when I gave it gas!

 

Have the dealer check your A/C tenssioner pulley, mine was making clancking sound.... they can replace it. they go bad sometimes.
