Car Alarm in the Cold...

Jessica unfortunately drove my car into work this morning in temperatures rangine 28-31 degrees. She successfully got there and locked it, via the key chain sensor thingie. About ten minutes later the alarm started going off and she parks the car right outside her window. Nobody around, etc. Anyone evAr heard of this phenomenon?!
