which car??

which would you think is the best car for a "hard-working" 17 year old who needs a new car? I'm looking for a car w/ power as well as class.......under 35k. I looked at a modded RSX-S and the IS300....but the CL-S ( ) is also very sweet

When I was a “Hard Working” 17-year old in 1984 I was driving a 10-year old Ford Maverick that I paid for with 1,500 bucks of my own money.

Times have sure changed.

Just wanted to know, how a "hard working" 17 year old can afford a $35K car?

You would be looking for $1000 mothly payment if you want to buy or some $500-600 a month if you lease.

Even if you make $1800 a month cash, the CLS woould eat your salary ( insurance + gas + repairs....)....

I would say get a nice decent $18k car like a H civic.

Just my opinion.

Are you, who is "hard working" going to be paying for the car or are your parents? If its you, you dont work hard enough for it trust me and wont be able to afford it....im 17 (18 soon) and im geting a cl-s 6 speed, but i am paying for it fully myself, but its via inheritince, i know that i wouldnt be able to pay for it with the money i make working....but like someone else said, if its you paying for it i would go with an rsx or somthing cheeper. Just my opinion.

4 doors... haul all your friends.
get bodykit and be > than CLS. :P
330 is definately too snob for 17.
besides, 35 will barely get a 325.

really people, is it necessary to stick the person in an ad hominem fashion?

Case in point: our pitbull administrator afforded a TL when he was roughly that age, don't make such a big deal...times change, economies change, job markets change, salaries change..

i like the bmw, but it's like 41g's . My friend bought one. If i was to do again, id get like a 1992 NSX. Very exotic and cheep. Still looks the same as the 2001 for a third of the price. And know one has them.

def. of hardworking: maintain a decent GPA, started my own business, and the most important reason my dad is getting me a car is because I made him a nice return on his stocks last year.....he was very happy... dad buys himself a porsche, and hopefully his son a CL-S...... btw, stock pick for 2002: ORCL

I'm such a fag - I voted for the IS300. I love it in the blue that looks like our Aegean Blue, especially with a bodykit. Plus is has lotsa mods and yet it's not a tiny hatchback like the RSX-S.
