I need to buy a second remote for my 01 CL and I saw a bunch on ebay. around $20 US plus shipping. I wanna know if I get one from an MDX or RL or TL or whatever, will it work with my 01 CL? there are 2 types I noticed generally, the one that looks like mine and the other one that looks a bit different (newer model I guess).

 

As long as the FCC code on the back matches yours, it should work.

 

 

I was always told the 01 black and red remote could not be interchanged w/ the silver remote of the 03 cl......just what I was always told if it works pls post.....I do have a extra cl remote I am willing to sell......actually two after my new alarm gets installed

 

i am using the new silver fob's with my '01 acura cl.

me too. Looks much better, but the newer remote paint is as cheap as our cars' paint. scratch and chip heaven.
