Cam gear question

Will there be cams out for the CL?

I kinda don't like how I redline in 3rd gear only going 85-90mph... wannna go at least a 100... Will getting cams solve this problem? What will if its not? I wanna raise these gear ratios a bit...

And what about pulleys? I can just use the ones from the V-6 Accord? (I have a CL-P)

Thris gear is rated for between ~108-112MPH. Do you have stock tire's&Rims?

Cams are different than Cam gears. Cam gears provide valve timing adjustments and are driven by a belt. Cams are what are actually moved by the cam gear, they are the direct control over the valve itself. In an SOHC engine like yours and mine, both the intake and exhaust valves are controlled by a single cam.

Which leads into my next explanation: Cams, cam gears, and the timing belt have NOTHING to do with what speed and what gear you'll be doing. That is all transmission hoopla. Off the top of my head I believe your 3rd gear 1.021 or something close to that, and your final is 4.26 something. You can raise the value of the 3rd gear itself, or the 4.26, but I really wouldn't recommend either since it will be detrimental to acceleration, not to mention automatic tranny's are a PITA to work with, and substantially more expensive labor than manuals.

And though pulleys have nothing to do with speed at gear, yes you can use the Accord Pulleys, just as a precautionary measure, don't idle too long with too many accessories on. When you're at a stop and you know you'll be there for a few minutes, turn off your lights, stereo, and maybe A/C.

Hope this helps.

I just got my Type S yesterday ..... and after driving a Premium for 7 months, i am still a little unnerved by the higher shifting RPMs for the type S... i guess it just tkes getting used to.
