CAI Noise

I am tinking about gettig a CAI, butI don't want a super loud engine a idle and low rpm. Like, I don't want to be driving into my school's parking lot and have a vary loud engine. Is the noie over stock noticeable at idle and low rpm? I really want an engine that sings at high rpm though, thanks!

You don't even know you have one until around 5500 rpms. Don't worry about it.

I agree. I wouldn't buy or use any mod that signifigantly
increases the noise of the car (unless I slam the gas, in which
case I want all the attention I can get ).

The AEM CAI is quite quiet until you hit VTEC.
I just read another post where someone was complaining
about the Injen intake, but there wasn't much follow up.

I have no clue if air-ram intakes are noisier or not.

The CAI will make this whooshing exhaling sound when you
turn the ignition off, but it's subtle and sounds cool.

it isn't going to be loud unless you drive it over 5k ALL the time. I doubt that you would be hitting 5k in the parking lot unless you were peeling out. This isn't a dragster or anything. You have nothing to be worried about.

Can't wait for my CAI

The CAI being the first performance mod, I'm excited about the miniscule hp raise and loud noise at 4500 rpm. I think the stock car sounds great already when I hit 5000 and the VTEC kicks in, but it's a little hard to hear it above the car stereo. I'm sure once my InJen CAI comes in, I'll really be able to scare the shit out of the unknowing passengers.

I HATE cars that are riced out, especially luxury cars that should look nice but STOOPID people make it look cheap and tacky. But performance mods RULE!

Remember, JUST SAY NO to wings, gigantic stickers, ugly fins, and masks. There's two ways to look good. You can be a musclehead on a beach or James Bond at a cocktail party. I think James Bond gets better girls, not the boneheaded musclehead.

trust me, the CAI noise will make the engine sound so meaty, throaty, so "sports car" sounding, it's like u're high...u'll never want the sound to stop it doesn't sound like a Type R, RSX, or anything like what 4-cyl's sound like...and it IS addicting, no matter what u may think...i live for 5K+ at least once every time im in my car...what a rush!!!

The best thing is in traffic with SS and you hit a hole and floor it. Then you get to hear it at 5500 in 2nd and 3rd. Yeehaa !!!
