My brother has an RSX typeS with a AEM short ram air intake. To me this thing is really loud especially when in the VTEC. I dont think that much noise under the hood of my CLS will sound right for me. Has anybody here heard these two cars together with intakes, and can you tell me if the CLS was louder, the same quiter etc? Any input would be appreciated.

 

I don't know about comparing the two cars, but the short ram intake is much louder than the full size CAI. The full size is a true CAI cause it draws its air from outside of the engine compartment, were its cooler.

 

My bro has an RSX-S too and yeah that shit is pretty loud. I have 3.0 the difference I noticed is that the RSX had a higher pitch loudness to it, where the 3.0 had a deeper growl.

 

No contest.....CL Rules over RSX....

RSX is too loud, bumpy, and that 4 cylinder doesn't pick up very well

CL is smooth, quiet, and responsive.....nuff said

 

I just installed the AEM cai last Saturday. At idle and normal running I don't hear anything, but at WOT in VTEC it sounds awesome.
