Bye Bye Cl!!!!!!

My beautiful 2002 CL is GONE!!!! My husband was in a serious car accident on the 6th of this month, rolled it about 5 times hit a telephone in two places and was launched 50ft, landing on its roof, he walked away with a broken back and a contusion on his brain, as you can see from the pictures, he is LUCKY that no one else was in the car, and lucky that his injuries although serious are not life threatening.

Thanks to everyone, he will recover slowly but surely, its a long road ahead.... and to the post about the safety, I am shocked actually at how far the roof of the car was smashed into the passenger seat, but I do know that the airbag may have been the only reason he was NOT thrown from the car..... he definetly had an angel with him that night.

Wow sorry to hear that.

If this isn't a reason to wear a seat belt, I don't know what is.

Hope he makes a full recovery.

I'm curious how we "walked away with a broken back".

Sorry to hear about this and glad he's alive and recovering.
Always wear your seatbelt. Flipped it five times? That's amazing. Wonder how it happened.

My suggestion...get a new husband. Anyone who would do this to a CL is not worthy. The only thing worse would have been if he did it to a CL-S.

4get the car, I'm ver yhappy to see that ur husband is still alive esp. due to the circumstances (i.e. no seatbelt). I just got into an accident abt a month ago so I can relate firsthand the horrible feelings one goes experiences through such an unfortunate incident. Nothing but the best of luck and good luck.

P.s. I think that Acuras and Hondas are pretty well built. i work at a dealership and see firsthand totaled cars or people who totaled them but walk away amazingly w/only a few scratches.

My Gawd!!! Lighten up a little. Yes, we are all grateful that the guy survived! But even in the most tragic events, finding even a tidbit of humor is tuff. Sorry, it was tactless, but it wasn't much worse than everyone here making fun of the poor guy on this board who bought the CL at the corner lot and found out he bought a P.O.S. I once drove my car through a house after street racing, almost killed myself and was lucky there wasn't someone asleep on the bed where my oil pan ended up. That was frickin tragic, but when I looked at the picts, took a breath, I could laugh about it. The Sept. 11 terrorist attacks were horrible, but don't tell me you didn't make or laugh at Afghanistan jokes or didn't played the Flash animation "Bin Laden Liquors" shooting game on the web.

DJF, u probably didn't mean 4 it to come out the way it seems but the thing is bro ur comments weren't appropriate for this situation. Especially since cars can be replaced and people can't. Also u didn't make it seem as if u were joking so thats why people got on ur jock. Not to be rude bro, but think b4 u type/say something

no offense takin djf. I was the driver of that car and i tend to try to joke a little myself to help ease the pain. I am very good driver have raced cars and sport bikes for years . What really sucks is I have no memory at all of this accident and really bothers me on how it all happened. I have been off track or off the road many times before and have always remembered every accident i have been in . But i do not remember this one . So at this point i have no choice but to try to be humorious about the situation . But take the angel that saved me very seriouslly. I will be back to normal soon I am a fighter....peace to all

Yes, but if it was a little unclear...

KANE3. I apologize. I am truly very happy that you're OK. Having been through an accident before myself, I never, ever wish that on anyone.

KANE3, When I had my accident, my memory of what happened was also a blank. It's as though my vision and brain went into some sort of suspended animation as it actually happened. Very surreal. It wasn't until a few days had passed that my memory came back and I began to see it all over again. When I went to the wrecking yard to see my car, I couldn't believe I survived. I cried. When I look at the picts of your car, my bad memories begin to resurface.

Again, sorry about the bad humor.

Dan

theres a way society deals with problems like this..for instance like u said about Sept 11th

at the beginning of the crisis..there were no cracks about afghani's or about the tragic day...but after time..and after recovery people loosen up again.

you cant just come up with a post like that on the forum right after the poor guys accident.

After time im sure we can all reflect and learn from the accident..but now is not the time..we should only pray for the poor guy to be ok.

wait, you weren't wearing your seatbelt? dam man, I though you had all the injuries with airbag AND seatbelt. Im actually supprised you survived, considering the energy the car must have had at 50 mph. Shit, most of the air bag tests are done on cars going 35 mph right?

I was in a car accident once when I was 12...wasnt wearing a seatbelt either, and so was pretty heavily injured. BUT we were going like 20 mph, not 50!!!

Anyway though, I think we are all glad you survived.

The cops said my speed was appox. 70mph and one witness said the car went over 50 feet in the air after hitting utility pole. Yes very amazing that i did survive. I used to drive tow trucks in the MTS. of colorado and this was the worst car i have seen in a very long time . I will be attending church now on a regular basis.
