guess Quality, oh i meant to say Comptech is only worth it for those who save money...

not a big deal, lets stop arguing.

Clearly if you got the money, you buy Comptech and just stop worrying bout problems.
If not, you buy XS and hope that the very few stories where all went well happens to you too.

dont mean to be a prick, but managing money is a great thing, if XS is all youd spend on your car, good for you. enjoy the gains.

BTW, headers are probably one of the best mods for this car!

hmm, well i'd like to ask why you didnt buy the UR pulley set? if you had the money, you might as well of gotten every last hp out of those accessories no? nope, you didnt think it was worth the extra money since the crank is where most of the power is at.

now personally i'd like to save 500-900 dollars on something that does the exact same thing, i believe that's managing money.

No 6MT fitment though. The rear header isn't bent for the motor mount.

Bought 1 off BM. Used for $650 and no problems.....................
so..........I say if u can install ursef and have the time, do whateva probably cheaper headers (xs, ss, ) If NOT just wait and keep checking BM and u will always find ONe sooner or later.
I know I paid almost 700 for mine but I am pretty sure if i wanted to get rid off it I can f at least still get $600.. (used) so u see...... its all good.

so .............. it makes sense again and again.....................
I'll take'm right now for $600

why do people only take into consideration 2 brands when looking at headers for the CL?! I always read "get Comptech because its quality" and "get XS because its cheap and does the job".
If people would do more of their own research they would find other reputable brands that make headers for around $350.

XS = $150ish
Megan Racing = $350
DC Sports = $385
Comptech = $1100

Actually those have been used & have bitten people much more then XS or CT. And again no 6MT fitment.
You weren't here when Megan had ceramic coated headers that peeled off within hours of 1st use. Or fitment problems with DC sports who came out with 3 redesigns that still didn't fit right.
Maybe those problems have been worked out now, but when XS came on the scene, it didn't matter. They fit & were cheap.

Megan has fixed all their problems with the headers. I've done my research Fuzzy lol I know like 3-4 yrs ago when they first started producing them there were all types of wierd problems such as fitment and resonance but now they're prob the best choice for headers for a 2nd gen cl/tl.
I was gonna spend some money at get some for the spring along with the MR cat-back exhaust

I have heard great things about the Megan headers from TL owners here in the Bay Area.

Some respectable modders suggested them to me after I got my Comptechs so...I would go with them!

I know I was preaching about the Megan Racing headers (they're still pretty badass) but I came across some used Comptech headers for a good price.

I was wondering if I should just reuse my old gaskets for the header-engine connection or should I just buy some new ones?

well i just did a search on ebay for megans for the 6 speed it came back -ve.
The only time i wud consider anything other than CT is if i was going turbo and doing a 6 speed swap becos its not worth cutting up my CT ( 5 speed version).

I ran across some JVT headers same old design (5 speed)

i dont know that brand but i know its a newbie

Some people have told me they were the same design as the CT's but were not able to get the 50 state certification.

I don't know if many people is currently running them...

I know brand new CT's are out of a lot of people's budgets...buy a nice used set...

A used set was just sold yesterday on the BM...$700.

I can afford $700 but I'm not sure I want to spend that much. I'm starting school soon and I don't want to blow through my savings. Maybe I'll try Megan headers, if not I'll save up for the CT's

Yes...all true.

I got my Comptech Headers for $600...

Patience and timing is the key if you are looking for good deals on used stuff.

I know nothing about the DC headers but from my recollection...it wasn't a favorable set for the CL.

But hey...I never bought them...I personally have no experience with DC stuff.
