Burnouts
Burnouts
(first - i didn't see anything when i searched, but that wouldn't be the first time)
So I'm at a light Sat night next to my friend. Look over, rev the engine a bit (stock 01 CLS) just as a joke. In reply he starts spinning the rear wheels in his E55 AMG. Light turns green and he peels out and puts about 2 car lenghts on me before we cross the intersection (no real surprise).
So - my question. Is it possible to get the wheels to spin on a stock CLS? I can do it when I'm moving or if the ground is wet, and I thought I read that it could be done, but any suggestions?
Maybe I should just borrow his 911 and do it in that so we can be side by side and at least make a race of it. Damn professional poker players

You should be able to. I got 225/45 goodyear F1 GS-D3s and only have intake and thermoblok spacers and can spin the crap out of them by using the e-brake. Not enough power to hold the burnout in second for too long but may be a result of my tires.

If not, for only a few hundred dollars (intake, thermoblok spacers and or crank pulley) and some elbow grease and you'll be lightin up those stock tires of yours like buttah
And remember, now that you know it's possible and talking about wanting to do it, this thread will only be
without pics or videos!

1. Pull the e-brake.
2. Disable VSA or TCS, whatever you have in your car depending on model.
3. Put it in first gear.
4. Hold the brake and apply throttle, enough to make the car stand still while bringing up the revs. Don't do this for too long.
5. Let go of the brake pedal, and apply full gas.
6. Make sure you're not dragging the rear tires. If you are, disengage quickly; otherwise you will get flat spots on your rear tires and you do not want that.
It might take some practice to do it, but when done right, it's sweet.

But it's all I can do other than sit there and just drool hahaI was more curious to see if I could do it. Seems so, but I'm still leery of using the floor mounted e-brake to do it.
I did a 2 minute burnout with my ol' Civic DX in 2nd gear, speedo showing 65mph, with a few friends holding the car back. You should have seen the smoke show that my 106hp beast put out!
It was fun.
I'll never do it again... in one of my cars... lol
