K-40 is not that stealth either and doesn't work as well as V-1, Passport (which has a pretty slick concealed system) or other "over the counter brands". I own a Valentine One, but if I lived in VA, I'd check into the rather concealed Passport system, which is a lot less than the K-40. Kind of a bummer regarding their archaic laws. Recently drove through and left my V-1 on just to spite them.............and since I had the remote display, I figured I'd like to know where the bogies were.

It costs 400 u.s. tops..

BLK CLS: Did you hard wire your detector? Any chance of seeing a picture if you did. I have a Bel 980 and I have it clipped to the sun visor with the ugly wire hanging down...

Would love to see how you did yours..

I hard wired mine into the wires behind the sunglass holder (+12 and ground for the mirror I think)..

On my way to Florida I drove clear through Virginia with my trusty V1 without a single problem.

They are also invisible to the so-called “detector-detectors” that the cops use there.

Most concealed detectors give up a lot in detection range because of where they are mounted. The lower you mount it the worse the range gets. Hills, other cars....all make detecting radar harder. Remember radar is basically line of sight. If you can't see the gun, neither can your detector. The higher it's mounted, the better jump you'll get.

I love the stealth look, but I like not getting tickets better. Why do you think Mr. Valentine doesn't make one? If they were so good, he'd do it in a second. His method is the best. Stealthy, but still gives great protection against the cops.

Get the escort 8500 and I'll even help install. Plus it blends in w/ the gray roof top and sunroof visor.
