Bubble on sidewall of tire (help!!!)

A bubble has formed on the outside of my front left tire...the tire is a stock michelin...

How long do I have before the tire goes...Also is there anywhere in the bethlehem/allentown/easton area where I can get a used tire of that size (215/50/17)???

i had the same thing. the place i went to get it looked at it said it was a impact bubble.. did you hit a big hole or curb or something?

mine was about 6 inches in circumference and 1- 1 1/2 inches out and he said it could go at any point or last forever. id get new tires if i were you.

those are the worst, they just get worse and worse, i got those on my integra from driving around LA, because people in LA don't know how to keep their belongings in their car or truck.

i always suggest getting these replaced immediately.

Had one in my Prelude. They told me the same thing as vinnydahitman. It could last forever or go at any minute. Definitely replace it. you won't feel safe until you do (not that I need to tell you that!).

I would say the same except I have had the exact same thing on my front stock tire for 2 years now and I am still going fine. I am putting new tires on in a few months when it warms up here in NJ. S-03's !!!!!

How about contacting Michelin ?

Since the Firestone/Ford fiasco, tire manufacturers are extremely willing to replace tires rather than chance the liability.

You have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

You, my friend, should go to Vegas and bet it all on black, because you're one lucky mofo.

Driving with a bubble in a tire is just asking for trouble.

I just replaced a tire a week-and-a-half ago because of a bubble from a fat-ass pothole. I would definitely recommend replacing it ASAP.

be safe bro, just replace it, don't risk getting a flat on a freeway just over a $200 tire that you're going to replace anyways in the future.

by chikai's tires for 65 bucks until you can get real ones...they will all match as well. You are driving a 32K car.

I have lost 3 tires from sidewall damage in 43000 miles. And michelin doesn't offer a road hazard warranty

Yes, it does absolutely matter!

All tires from different brands - different models within brands too - , even if they're marked as the same size, are not exactly the same size. They have slightly different constuction, tread patterns and compounds, sidewall stiffness, etc.

The result is that each tire will be acting and handling differently -- a real recipe for disaster in an emergency situation. Or, if you're like a lot of the people here, just driving "briskly".

CHANGE THOSE TIRES NOW!!!

you should be ashamed of yourself putting your CL through such agony! :'(

you should always try to keep all 4 tires the same. can't really say much else but that.

i'll put it this way, would you fill up your tank with different level's of octane?

each tire will have a different level of traction no matter what the manufacturer says about it's tread level and it's tire rating, they all perform differently.

Like others have said, you have to get those tires fixed ASAP.
Running different brands, sizes, bubbles and uneven mileage is going to confuse the heck out of the VSA and ABS systems not to mention handle like crap and cause uneven wear.

I remember giving you advice about a local body shop a few months back.
You're the guy that goes to Lehigh right?.
Didn’t you get into a minor accident or run up over a curb or something?
Did you ever get THAT fixed properly?

As for recommendations in the Lehigh Valley, I got my Falken Azenis tires up at NTB (National Tire & Battery) on Macarthur Rd by the mall.
They have good service and also match Internet prices.

If you’re brand specific, open up the phone book and call around.
There’s plenty of “discount” type places around here like Jack Williams Tire, Fred Minlin, Lehigh Tire & SEARS.

Bottom line….. Get the car fixed before you wreck it.

Change the tire now and consider changing the tire on other side also so that the tires will have even wear.
