Bubble in the sidewall
Bubble in the sidewall
I have had my car of a little over a year and last weekend I noticed a bubble in the sidewall of my stock tire. They have 20k on them and I was planning on getting rims and tires in March of next yr and using the stock for the winters. I hate the stock tires and now I have to buy one to replace the damaged one. Anyone know where I can get the stock tire cheap? Or even one used with around 20k on it, so its more balanced. Thanks for the help.
By the way LOVE the new CAI ! ! !

Possible... but with 20K miles, it might be better to start thinking about some "different" tires.
They just seem to get harder and I've always gotten "road hazzard" problems with tires with near worn tread conditions.
IMO, if the tires aren't good enough for winter or (wet weather), they should be tossed (good == deep channels)

Ever wonder why you're the only one who sees the Michelin man in a black cloak with a scythe?

For those of you that used the stock tires til the end, how many miles did they go for?
Thanks

Check out the new Sumitomo HTR+ tires on Tire Rack. They are reasonably priced and are very good 4 season tires. All Weather Tire in Huntington LI have very good prices for tires. They might have them in stock. Good luck.

I wouldn't drive with a bubble.
But, that's just me...
YMMV
I am driving with a bubble in my tire, and a nail in another one. It was discovered in June and I have been down to Atlanta and back last week, so it's up to you if you want to do it. I am also waiting to replace my stocks with some 18"s within the next 2 weeks, so I am waiting it out before buying more tires.
personally, I'd replace any bubbled tire immediately. I'm just kinda shocked over the Michelin's being so crappy. Since the North American headquarters is down I-85 (Greenville, SC) and I have NEVER had any personal experience with a bad Michelin. They're the best in the trucking industry by a landslide. A good friend is one of the fleet "super" account managers ( large accounts - UPS, etc.). Sorry to hear about the problems.
