That is a common problem with our cars. I just had mine replaced the side one went out. I had a threee replaced a while back when all of them went. It doesnt cost that much. I think the one that is most $ is the one in the back near fire wall bust that only runs like 120 for the part. The side is only 62 bucks.

how exactly did you find out that it's broken? I went in to stealership to check the transmission and they said front and right side are broken. I drive it and don't really notice anything. and my visual inspection didn't really reveal anything. so how do you know?

Actually... I would be interested to know as well as I sometimes have an odd vibration on moderate acceleration... I suspect motor mounts, but would like to know how you can verify when one is broken. Isn't the front one fluid filled?

Same thing happened to me when I got my tranny replaced. They said only the front one was broken. I couldn't really tell you if there was a difference with it replaced because the time period from when I took it in till when I got it replaced (tranny and motor mount) was about a week and I forgot how it was to even drive the CL.

According to my (st)dealership...it happens because they rot out due to age and weather and crack over time. Something to that extent.

I had a little uh 'dee-de-dee' a month before this that may have caused the mount to break earlier...I went over a parking stop in a parking lot on an idiot move. The spots to the right and left didnt have the parking stops...apparently mine did. I went over really slow, luckily there was no damage from that incident (except the possible motor mount).

interesting. the last time I got my car serviced they told me that on of my motor mounts were bad. I got both of them replaced (I thought that there were only 2)

I could not tell the difference.

evidence of a broken mount will be what looks like rusty stains near the mounts...places to look are near the PS pump...the oil filterfront and rear cross members

On the passenger side I can see some rusty stains... and yet when I asked my shop to check motor mounts (because I had a vibration on accelleration), they said the mounts were fine. Is there any way to tell for sure? Are the side mounts hydraulic as well?

Thanks for you suggestions!

My left mount has a brown fluid stain next to it. Is there any reason to change it if I don't notice much vibration?

yes it's hydrolic and it has torn if you see the rusty stuff...the onlt real way to tell when it's minor is to pull the mount

it's weakened state will cause the front mount to fail next...

Mine was broken and was replaced when the tranny was replaced. It's a lot more common than you think.

Oh damn I noticed this yesterday when I opend the hood. The one by the power steering!! That blows. I don't notice a difference though in anything?
How many do the 6mt's have? Are they easy to replace on a 6mt?

I replaced the front motor mount this weekend. Wanst too hard. Im lucky and have access to a rotary lift any time i want in my uncles shop. Makes repairs much easier. I knew it was a broken motor mount when i would give it gas from a dead stop and i would hear a "thump" like noise fron the front end. Checked out the other mounts while i was under there, everything was fine.

If any one wants i will put pics of the broken mount up so you can see what to look for.

the 6mt has the same mount setup with the addition of the dampeners front and rear..the side is the easiest to change/fill ,if you fill be sure to fill the torn lower section where the fluid was...

here's a pic of a slightly torn side mount:

fuzzy, here are the prices for the front and passenger mount (6mt), which are probably the only 2 broken, if they are broken.

front:
50800-S3M-A01: $80.98

passenger:
50820-S3M-A81: $46.99

prices from http://oemacuraparts.com/ and do not include s/h
