I am bringing in my CLS to Somerville Acura next Thursday to finally get that anti squeak tape put on my annoying sunroof. But I still have that rattle in the back deck, epesially when heavy bass comes through. Has anyone found a solution to this so I can tell the dealer to fix it? They had gotten 2 tried at it already and I want it done right this time. Suggestions?

 

quick fix would b to stick like an old rag or somethin up against the extreme end of the deck...wedge it up against the rear windshield...that or u could take a couple rubber stoppers and wedge them between the brake light housing and the rear windshield.

it's difficult to really solve this prob at the dealership...i heard once Park Ave. managed to fix it on someone's CL here on the boards, but i would hate for the service guys to take apart the whole back section, put it back together, and the same prob happens again maybe Jens knows how to do it.

 

Yeah well the service guys at my dealership have taken apart the rear deck TWICE and it is still there. That is one persistant rattle. But I figure it really isn't my problem. I bought a $29k car and this just shouldn't happen. I would expect this if I bought a $16 Grand Am but not my CLS.

 

My Dealer magic-taped under the high brake light...I had your EXACT problem, now it's gone!!

in case your dealer doesn't know what magic tape is, tell them it's the sunroof stuff

 

do you think that is a 100% fix for that rattle though? It really sounds like it is just the brake light tapping against the glass so I am thinking that will totally work.
