Having a Hard time deciding.

Tirerack has a Very Good review of Bridgestones:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/max.jsp

I think most people know I'm Toyo biased at this point. I would like to see someone try some S03s (this would be the only tire I would consider in lieu of my Toyo T1S Proxies) See sig -- I love 'em!

A lot of Prelude owners dislike the Bridgestone RE92s. As N1 stated, the Audi owners have bubble trouble. However, the SO2 is liked by many drivers.

Exactly...everyone is talking about the crappy Bridgestones..the RE730s are the ones that are comparable to Toyos...

No the S02s blow the Toyos out of the water...the Re730s are the same price/performance comparison.

How about the Yokohama AVS Sports? I know the SO2s and AVS both wear quickly. AVS are a few less $$. How agressive do you drive? How long do you plan on keeping them?

I drive aggresive and my tires tend to last about 15K or 6 months...the Re730s have a treadwear of 300...but the trade off is a little bit more harshness.

I guess there is no need to worry about "All Season" tires in SF

$600 each 15K miles/6 months that is like $100 each month on tires.... a bit to the too much side of the norm, people some times drive 30k-45k miles before even looking at the tire tread wear....
Changing summer tires in 2 years is something I can live with.... hope the Nittos will hold up well.

Every 6 months or 15K miles? How the fuck are you driving? thats insane! And its a Type S?

I've got like 20K miles on my car, and haven't thought about new tires yet. I want the bridgestones though.

FZ4 is all season. RE730 is not.
The RE950 compares with the FZ4.

Toyos...those are what I am getting when it is time to replace the tires.

My g/f has some on her mustang (no jokes) and they are so much better than the Goodyear POS that came with the car.

Figure that I commute almost 30K a year....and factor in that I do like to race...burn the rubber..etc... that's not too bad...for normal wear I would say you could get about 30K on them. I burned through the front Michelins in 15K....they have a treadwear of 300 and are supposed to last what? 40-45K? Maybe if I didn't have a car faster than 18 secs...(ie..my old corolla) but then again Nittos only lasted that long for me too..

Bluto...btw, I they aren't all-season tires...but perform almost as well in the rain as all-seasons..

I know summer tires have a different (softer?) compound, causing them to become hard and unsafe in cold weather. I would guess the softer compound gives the summer tire better grip/handling over an 'all season'? Wet traction mostly depends on the tread pattern.

Can an all season tires be equally compared to a summer tire? I am looking for an all-season tire and not expecting the same performance as a three-season/summer tire.

Figure that we get a good amount of rain in NoCal...small flooding and what not.. I think the RE730s are awesome...check the ratings at tirerack...even if they aren't what you're looking for..they'll have info on what you want.

The Toyo T1S work far better in the rain than the stock tires -- no comparison (this includes, all-surfaces I encountered, and high speed travel at 70-80 MPH)

Bluto:

For all season, I've been hearing great things about the Yoko AVS db. You would need to go with a 235/45-17.

Here is the page with all the hot all season tires (4-season):

I never had a doubt on the Toyos..I figure it's a preference...besides...I get my RE730s cheaper than your Toyos...

I like Bridgestone tires. Didn't mean to give you the idea I don't. I hear nothing but good comments on the RE730, SO-2, and the Toyos. From Acura, BMW, Audi to Subaru boards. There are a few Bridgestone tires to avoid though. And it is important to compare the same performance category.

I have not owned either. Has anyone here owned both? On the same car? They are both great brands. Really comes down to your own personal experience and price.

Caddy - my advise: Find a shop that is convenient and you trust. See what they offer and their prices. There is nothing worse than bad service or making a long drive on a spare to get a flat fixed. Hopefully they offer a few options that fit your needs.

Yep: Don't think I could Go Wrong with Either one-- Proxies or S03s !

But I've got a while longer on my Michelins: Only 7700 miles on them. I'm NOT Giving them up yet

Whiney ass tires...that's what they get...

I have a set of RE730's and are the best performance tire you can get for the $.

Unbelieveable traction and stickyness are a big part of the tires popularity. On top of that, it wears better than most tires in it's class. A lot of the Z community like the RE730's for their overall ability.
