Brembo/rim combo

Hey guys, I've decided to get rid of the accord for either a CL or TL. I've only got a few questions. Currently I'm running some 18x8 +38 offset volk rims. Does anyone know if it'll be sticking out and if it does by how much? On the accord it stuck out slightly. If anyone has pictures of their CL (2nd gen) with something similiar to the VOlk III's could you please post them. THey look like the C2 multipiece rims.

Second, I'm planning on transplanting my brembos from the accord over to the CL, does anyone know if I'll have a clearance issue as I had to use a 5mm spacer on the accord.

Finally, I'm having a hard time deciding between the TL and CL. Obviously if I buy the CL-S i'll be getting the 6 spd, but if I was to get the non type S, what are the advantages of the TL over the CL and vise versa?

From: where the weather suits my clothes
If you put them on a CLS:
The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 4mm MORE
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 30mm (1.2")

If you put them on a TLS:
The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 2mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 36mm (1.44")

If you put them on a TLP or CLP
The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 8mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 42mm (1.68")

Oh and my car has Racing Hart C2's if you wanna see. Check my sig.

I agree with NSX4DR - he knows his shit. if your ride is lowered, +38 will stick out & even a good chance of rubbing for sure.

You don't wanna look like one of those lowriders with 13" wheels that stick out a foot

Well the reason I had to get a high offset is to clear the brembo caliper. w/ the accord it stuck out about 1/2 inch, not really noticeable unless u stare right at it. It was tolerable to me, but anymore would be pushing it for me

+51 to +45 ... And it depends on the tire size and drop. IMO, +51 is ideal.

I understand what your saying.

AND

A lot of what will fit and won't fit depends on the spoke clearance. You can get a make, like SSR -- and others, that will clear with higher offset...

I've got 18x7.5s and a 48 offset, looks perfect and no rubbing.

In 7.5" wide -- I'm sure they are PERFECT!

The HRE folks recommended +52 in 17x7.5, and +51 in 17x8. The 7.5" wheels in your offset should work great...

Narrow wheels are not as critical...

CVT inch to mm

1/4" ~= 6mm
1/2" ~= 12mm
1" ~= 25mm

If 18x8 +51 or 19x8 +51 works great, check out the following

18x7.5” +45 is equiv to: 18x8” +51 - 6mm (1/4" less relative width on left/right sides of the rim)

17x7” +39 is equiv to: 18x8” + 51 - 12mm (1/2" less relative width on left/right)

AS you go to a narrower rim, you have more room to work with. However, the car comes with OEM 17x7" +55, so you just end up getting some rubbing on the fender lip & outboard side of the fender well.

If you had 18x8” or 19x8" with a 42 offset, you'd have about 1/2" more rim sticking out and the rub would NOT be pretty with lowering, 235/40-18s (or 235/35-19s), and/or some speakers and folks loading up the car...

YMMV
