Brakes (update)...dropped off car this morning
Well, it was too good to be true.
For those that read my post from Sunday, you'll remember that I made an appointment with Sterling McCall Acura for the 30K service and my brakes.
When I dropped the car off this morning and the service rep was going through the work to be done, I asked him if the brakes were covered under warranty. His response was, "Well, if they are more than 50% worn, then we will charge you for the brake pads only." I asked if they would still charge me even though there's a service bulletin out for them. He replied, "Well, we can probably work something out."
I'm willing to bet my brake pads are way over 50% worn. I never brought them in because I like to make sure there's a problem with my car before I run to Acura. It better not screw me in the end.
I got the idea that they may not even resurface the rotors - even if they change the pads. Maybe I'll get lucky, but I'm thinking they aren't going to hook me up the way I thought they would.
What can I do?? Does anybody have the full text of the service bulletin I can print? Does it say anything about how worn the brake pads need to be?

The brakes are covered up to 50K miles. I had to get it FAXED to me, from other dealerships, so that i'd have it in writing to take to my dealership, so that they'd do it.
Otherwise, they would've charged me.
THE ROTORS ARE WARPED ACURA, ALL DEALERSHIPS SHOULD BE THE SAME!
That's the reason this is MY LAST HONDA PRODUCT. I have to be a TOTAL ASSHOLE To get something done at the dealership usually.

I have it at home in VA> I'm in Maryland until thanksgiving for my job.
My best advice to you is to do what I did.
Call other dealerships in your state, and ask what their policy is on getting rotors turned, and what mileage they cover it up to, and ask if they are aware of the service bulletin.
The bulletin is available thru search on this site.
Get them to fax you the shiat, IN WRITING, I got 3. Take them to the dealership, and be a total ASS. That's the only way to get anywhere with those DUMBASS's.
Good luck. If I was at home I'd fax'em to ya. Sorry bout that.

Awesome!
Thank you very much, Mike.
I see no mention in there about being 50% worn - only if we're past warranty. I'm assuming it means past the 4yr/50K warranty and not some "other" warranty on the brakes.

Called Carl after I saw that TSB. Asked if he had seen the actual TSB because it mentions nothing about brake pad wear. He said, in a quiet, voice, "We'll just go ahead and replace them." I asked him about the rotors and he said they'd be resurfaced. I'm not pushing that envelope. If the brakes wear down too quickly again, then I'll ask them to replace the rotors next time. Or if the brakes feel like crap (shimmying from rotors still being warped), I'll bring it right back.
Thanks to all for your help! I'll write again tonight if I get there and they didn't replace the pads.
