Brakes showing rush

Well it started raining last night in southern california, i guess it rained all night. So then the following day, at around 1 pm i go outside and i looked at my wheels and on the brakes, i see all this rust. I don't know if other cars do this after a rainy day. Has this happened to anybody before and should i worry about this?

Iron + water = rust. Not a problem, find something else to worry about!

Not a problem. I live in the North East. I see it everytime it rains/snows up here.

It's true though, I don't know when mine DON'T have rust on them.

You'll get rust all the time if you live near the ocean. The humidity usually is enough to induce some rusting.

It's a normal thing since the rotors are cast-iron. If you brake a few times, the rust will slough right off the rotor.

First time you hit the brakes it'll be gone bro.
You'll notice this at car lots also where all the cars don't get driven often.

i don't drive my car every day. if it sits for 2 or 3 days the rotors show a light rust cover. it seems normal. i saw it on new infinities & mercs when i was car shopping. just cheap components. never saw it on my older detroit cars.

Why, because they were drum brakes?

I love the title of this thread.

I’ve heard of that.

Yeah, carquest has it right: everyone knows that detroit iron is different from german iron and those cheap iron components on infinities just don't cut the mustard. Only American Cars don't get rust on their brake rotors.

I honestly hope that was a joke.
