Brake pad & brake fluid suggestions

Rather than paying the dealer $375 to cut my front rotors and put on new pads me and my Dad are going to do it. I got some Brembo blanks for cheap so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what pads are good and arent a ton of money cuz my funds are kinda low? Also I was wondering if I have to use Honda brake fluid or if theres an aftermarket brand that will work better?

Run the OEM pads IMO if its just for driving around to and fro.

And any DOT3/4 brake fluid will be fine, just make sure when you do the bleed you get all the old brake fluid out.

Rockauto.com has decent pricing for parts check them out.

depends on the dealer, my Acura dealer often has special $180 to cut front rotors and put new pads, this is reasonable

I've run Hawk HPS pads from Tire Rack for cheap a couple times and they were pretty good w/ initial bite, but a bit of dust. The last set I tried on my old TL would just not bed properly and squealed so I had to replace them.

Project Mu B-Force had good initial bite for street w/ low dust. Might be a bit more pricey.

Have used Porterfield R4S several times and this is what I have on my CL w/ Brembo blanks now and they are a good street pad w/ decent dust, quiet and a noticeable improvement in initial bite over stock.

Thanks. I was on rockauto.com and theyve got good prices and a ton of different pads. I was wondering is there a certain type of pad material thats gonna work better with the Brembo Blanks? Should I be looking for an OE style pad, ceramic or something else? If anyone has any suggestions I'd GREATLY appreciate it. Thanks

Ehh, unless you drive really aggressive or are planning on tracking the car on the weekends, greenstuff doesn't really do much since they work better really hot. I had greenstuff matched up with EBC rotors and I didn't like it. I'm running redstuff now and they're great, plus really low dust! As for fluid idk whatever works for you, I think it's more of a personal choice.

I love my redstuff pads. I didnt want something that needed a lot of heat to operate efficiently since Im on the highway a lot. If I need to make a panic stop, chances are my brakes have cooled down some.

I just put some Akebono pads on my car almost 2 months ago and I haven't had any problems with them. Another user on here used Akebono as well. I got em from Advanced Auto Parts for about 80 bucks for the front and 60 bucks for the rear. If you want, that excelerateperformance place has some Stoptech rotors for like 116 a piece which isn't bad because I purchase those same Brembo rotors your talking about and they were 80 a pop. So I figure why not pay an extra 30 bucks for slotted and drilled rotors.
