Question Brake issue

Stupid me...tried to save a few bucks at a "fast food" brake shop and they screwed me. They trashed the front wheel bearings on my 97 CL when they pulled and reinstalled the rotors to resurface them. Had to go to the dealer for new bearings to the tune of 800 bucks.
Anyone else with a similar problem? I'm trying to find info on the proper rotor/hub installation/removal procedures so I can go after the brake shop. The dealer said it was basically their fault...but won't back me in the fight. Any help would be appreciated.

I wouldn't expect that the dealership will back you on this. They are really good at bashing everyone elses work.

I would go back to the shop where you got your brakes done, and tell them what happened. Explain how the messed up. They will more than likely say it wasn't their fault. You would get a bit pissed and leave. But they may accept that they were at fault.

You need to find someone reputable to do the work on your car. I have had mechanics mess up before, and they have always accepted the blame, and redid the repairs for free. But this happened at a place that I took my car to for years.

Good luck, keep us posted. And welcome to the forum.
