Brake help!!

Sup guys.
Alright here's the deal. I've changed out my brake pads up front cause I was getting an annoying squeal like I needed new pads. I was running Axxiss MM at all four corners w/ drilled and slotted rotors up front. Now I'm running Raybestos STS up front cause that's all I could get on short notice. I still get annoying ass squeal during stop and go traffic. No squeal during hard braking. I seriously doubt it's the rear cause I know they are rarely used and the MM on there are fairly new. Can anyone help!!!!!! I'm taking it back to the shop that did the work yesterday and see if they can come up with some answers. You input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Maybe warped rotors?

Well if it helps any when i had my brakes do just as you are describing, my rotors were slightly warped come to find out from my Acura dealer. Before i tried brake cleaner spray which did nothing. Your rotors may just need to be resurfaced. This of course is just my opinion based on my expierence. (For you info, my brakes are stock with stock pads though.) Hope this helps somewhat.

Thanks dude. Unfortunately I've already had my rotors resurfaced too.

Did you apply brake-squeel compound to the back of the pads PRIOR to installing them? IMHO, you wasted $$$ buying new pads if you didn't need to.

I changed to Akebono ProACT ceramic pads when I swapped out my front rotors to cross drilled. So far after 3k miles no noise at all. I went with ceramic pads because I did not want any brake squeal.

When researching brake pads I do remember that certain brands and types were more susceptable to squeal. I believe that the Axxiss pads seemed to have more squeal problems than others. I am not familiar with the Raybestos STS's.

Consider ceramic pads if break squeal is a big issue and ensure that the installation was done correctly as suggested by others.

You need to have that stuff on there to dampen the vibration that occurs under light braking to get rid of the squeal. Make sure you put it on the back of the pads though!

Thanks for the suggestions boys. When I did the install myself w/ Axxiss MM up front a year ago, I used break squeal compound and had no problems what so ever. I'm guessing the place I took has not used this stuff hence the problem. I just don't have as much times these days to work on my car myself. As for changing pads, I knew I needed new ones anyway so it was no big deal just wish I could have waited and ordered Axxiss Ultimates at all 4 corners. Thanks again boys.
