Bought '03 CLS 6sp!
Bought '03 CLS 6sp!
Late Sunday night I became the proud owner of an '03 Satin Silver / Ebony CL Type S 6 speed. It came down to a decision between a 325Ci and this, but in the end it was not difficult. Power, comfort and value. Only bad thing about the CLS is that I choose to wait a few hundred more miles before I wind through the gears (19 on the odo when purchased).
It's been nothing but smiles.

As soon as I figure out what I want to do first.
I need to ditch the 4x4 look quick like. It'll be nice to return to Honda suspensions after futzing with Passats and Jettas for the last two years.
I'm driving the car to Pensacola, FL in September so tint is a must. Last car (Passat) had 35% (damn Oregon), which I thought was too light. Especially given the sun down south, 20% would probably be a better bet.
As far as wheels go, the stockers are not that bad for OEM equipment. But once I do the drop I know I'll have an 18" itch.
Matt - I'd like to check out yours for ideas and catalyst. I'm right by the Nike campus. Not sure how many others there are in PDX on this group, but a GTG somewhere would be cool.

Re: Bought '03 CLS 6sp!
Looks great, First Mod. Take off the Front Plate. It will scratch the S*&^ outta the front bumper.

If you can get away with it and it's not a law up there, take off the license plate. Don't make the mistake that i have done and have your bumper all scratched up. I don't want to remove mine now, I am to embarrased to show the scratches.
Thanks everyone!
Unfortunately Oregon law requires a front license plate.
BUT, as I said I am going to FL in September where no front = OK, and I can probably ride on temp tags until then.. so
Off to wash the car again.

I definately recomend at least 20% tint. I've got 18% on mine. You just have to roll both windows down when you get pulled over. You'll love the car, especially after you run it through the gears at redline a few times.

Friend's had his off for almost a year and a half, was even pulled over once, no beef about the plate. Just keep it under your seat, just in case they say something. Then just play it off like you need to get the holder from the dealer, cause you got in a slight bump up a couple weeks ago. Since you're going to go with illegal tint (in Oregon anyway) you may as well run without a front plate too :P
