bottoming out?..

bottoming out?..

wat does this mean (suspension)?..does it mean the bottom of the car hittin the floor cuz of height..sorry stupid question jus wanna know wat it means..

it means one of two things -

1) the shock runs out of travel and hits the bump stop.

2) the bottom of the car comes in contact with the ground.

i've had both happen. :o

how does #1 happen?..potholes?..as for #2 it happened to me many a times..

i am very aware..trust me..its just sometimes i have people in the car or either the bumps are crazy..=)

#1 can happen from potholes, where when you hit the pothole the shock is fully extended and then when you get back onto level ground the shock is hit real hard and hits...

The way I've usually done it though is I've come across dips in the road where the road sinks down in front of me, enough that it causes the shock to rebound too far..
