bottom"fog lights" arent working

just got the car recently and didnt notice the bottom lights do not function. i dont knopw the term for them so i will refer to as foglights. neither one turn on which leads me to think maybe they were diconnected by previous owner bc they have the upgraded bulb intensity to make them bluer so i wonder if while installing etc he opted to disengage them. any input would be helpful such as where to get at them to check if maybe they are unplugged or what. also is the regular lights on the same fuse as the "fogs" or if the fuse was out would none of the lights work??????/......

thanks guyz for any input!

They are road lamps, not fog lights. The bulbs are probably just burnt out. The bulb you need is 168. They are very easy to change and not expensive. Since your going to be changing them out, I would consider you get the PIAA 19172 bulbs.

do you think its possible both bulbs just burned out at only 63k miles? it seems like not a very long time for light bulbs that are only used occasionally to have burned out already....? have any of you had to replace bulbs this early or should i assume the previous owner did something to disengage them or maybe they got wet or something? 63k seems a little early to be replacing bulbs but who knows just wonderin......

thanks for the feedback though- good looks

The road lights are on whenever the headlights are on, so they could have been used quite a bit...

Are these the bulbs that match the best to the headlights ?

I hooked mine up seperately, so I can turn them on or off whenever.

This might be a stupid question but what year is your car? 01-02 or 03? if its 03 make sure the previous owner wired them up at all (or correctly) if they are there because they don't come stock for the 03's and he prob. got them off a used 01 or 02. Might be a dumb question I know but sometimes the simplest answers are the right ones. Good luck

no its an 01 and i bought new bulbs #168 at advancedauto yesterday and it was just both bulbs were broken or blown. i assume the prev, owner could have slammed some potholes bad as he lived in statten isalnd ny but im not ue how #1 i didnt notice, and #2 they both went out at same time. for less than 3$ i got the bulbs but i couldnt find piaa 19172, the people in the store didnt even know what i was talking about. i bought the oems which are way amber or orangish esp compared to my upgraded lights(they are one step up bluer than stcok) but dont look bad bc i have the pdg. if i had any 0other color though i doubt id be happy with the color of the oem 168 bulb,i still may chuck em and get bluer ones or hyper white or something but i didnt have a chance to get to a comp b4 i got em.....

question------haha may sound pretty dumb, i bought the car with the upgraded bulbs so im not informed on all the light intensitys and numbers and such. what are the PIAA 19172 bulbs???????? the store people didnt know what they were but is that bc they are aftermarket and you have to get them offline or something? what are they what coclor are they where can i get em and how much do they cost??????????????

thanks-semi-noob
