Bomz Racing Pulley

I've read a few threads where guys talk about a cheaper pulley on eBay opposed to the UR pulley....anybody have any opinions on this or should I quit being a cheap ass and buy the UR pulley?

quit being a cheapo. The extra cash is a worthy tradeoff for not risking your crankshaft being unbalanced and blowing itself up.

I put on the Option racing pulley. Search Ebay for it. It's $24 shipped.
Several members have that one & zero problems.

I compared the weight, size & quality of it against a UR pulley a friend had & saw zero difference.
The UR claims to be balanced, & some other stuff, but that's debatable.
I also know other people that have a pulley from them on civics & accords & have 50-60K miles on them.

The UR pulley is 0 gram balanced and CNC machined. They have been in business for over a decade and they have developed quality products. IMO it's not worth the risk to run a cheap knockoff on such an important part as the crankshaft pulley and not know whether it has been machined properly. I would rather have peace of mind than save $150.

And I have UR pulleys on my car just for reference.

any aluminum crank pulley will give you hp. Gains b/t bomz, no name, and UR might be equal. I just don't like the idea of trusting my whole engine to a $20-$50 pulley. It's not like an ebay intake that just sits there, this thing rotates at thousands of RPM and if it is off balance or breaks there she goes.

Just my 2 cents man and I'm sure there are some that are fine but what if you get that one that isn't?

Yes. Gains were noticed as soon as I did a test drive.

Likely they look a little different in design. But they function & install the same.

I did a search & it seems the option racing one isn't being sold right now.

You can get it direct from their website however.

Weight on either are suspect until you weigh them. The Option one I bought was exactly 1.5lbs.

Any underdrive pulley could give you issues with a system. Stock diameter lightweight will be fine and still give you hp so go with that if you are worried.

If you have a stereo system over 600 watts RMS or a supercharger kit you would want a stock size pulley, not an underdrive one. This won't underdrive the accessories. UR is the only company that makes a stock size pulley.
